Organizing!

Well, my BIG summer project-I want to organize every room in the house.  I would LOVE to be clutter free throughout every room when school starts again!  I would love to do every drawer, cabinet, and inside place but that is not realistic.  So if I can just take care of the stuff you see in the room when you walk in I would be so happy.  Of course getting all this done by the end of summer would be a miracle but I happen to believe in miracles so I'm going for it.  I would love to take before and after pics and share it-I thought that would be fun and keep me accountable.   I started last night with my boys bookcase, oh what a mess!  I HAVE to get rid of some books, which is so hard for me.  However they have grown out of a lot of them, boo hoo!  They are getting so big!  So I'm on a mission, I would love to have an organized home by fall, it doesn't have to be super clean all the time, I just know I would feel better if there was less STUFF!  Any of you have organization projects for the summer?  I would love to hear about them!

I do plan on doing some "summer cleaning" myself. I plan on getting in all closets, clothes and definitely the school room (which is a horrible-horrible mess). I do plan on doing some school throughout the summer too.

Ah, I feel your pain. I have a cupboard filled with books that I need to go through. I just can't seem to bring myself to giving them away!!! Share how you do it sometime... I might do the same.

Boy oh boy do I know how that is. hehe, infact i feel just like the little lady character next to my name. I lke your goal of giving yourself the whole summer, that's a good idea. I'm too hard on myself and want things done in a week, in a day. I have my downstairs nice and clean, with just a bit of clutter to go. I hope to finish that up and get my upstairs started again. It's so hard keeping up with it all. But I think I've got to come to terms with it, it's always going to be messy, I just have to try to keep it clean and hold big cleaning fests once in a while.

Hello! Thanks for posting. I've missed making my rounds - now for catch up time. I'm glad your able to tackle all those things that get put off during the school year. Seems to take all summer just to get a little order restored. But I too believe in miracles. After all, I'm soon going to help my daughter tackle her room - not going to be pretty.

Guess what I started last night? MY end-of-the year declutter (doing it early because we might be moving)...I got a great book at the library that really motivated me - "Homeschooling at the Speed of Life"...it came with an organizational cd! DH even got on the cleaning train and has helped organize the garage! Wow...who needs spring cleaning when there is SUMMER CLEANING!
