Um........... Yes we got our petrol go-kart fixed but it has been to wet to go on it :-( :(
yesterday we did some art Mum does a art class with some friends I made a rocket and a volcano. last week we did canvis painting I mean to post some photos but have not done it yet !!!!

Friday S&T

Hello every one !
Here are some photos from our holiday / Vacation The photos here are of a place called Jamestown in Virginia

Jamestown was the name of the place where 104 men and boys settled in the late 17th century . We saw the villiage and the houses that they lived in .
We tried on some armour in the recreated fort that sourounds the villiage .

One of the men there shot of a musket it was loud !!!! If any one has any questions please ask.

Okay, here is my show and tell part. Mum found a really neat set at bargain books which teaches you how to sculpture. It comes with a book, rods and modelling clay. My sister is making the horse and my brother a person. I chose a head. You bend the rods into a cog and fill it with kitchen foil to give it the shape. Then you cover it in clay. Here is how it turned out.

Hi 2 days ago me and my brother did some gardening we planted some onions. last summer we grew some huge marrows strawberry's figs and blue-berrys mum got some seeds today so me and my brother are going to dig over some more beds so mum can plant them.

the results of my baking ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I am back I am going to let every one how my cake turned out first it didn't cook for a while. I timed it for another 10 minutes after that it started to cook. It tasted delicious ( Witch was very surprising )

last week we had a sleep over at our friends house before we went to bed we had a French lesson so this afternoon I have been learning some.

Me baking again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry I haven't posted mums computer died well ..... it went off and would not start up

then every one got scarred Lol !!!! cause Mum has got all of my little Brothers baby photos in a file on it Dads going to take it to a computer shop....

You might be interested in knowing that I am writhing a story it might take a while I will post it for every one to see until then it 's a secret.

I am doing the writing lessons with Mrs Marlow I am on lesson 6.

I am going to comment every one on my friends list Oh... I said the computer was not working you might be wondering how I am doing this post we have a Lap top Dad did a bit o shall I say engineering and got it on-line

I did some baking and my last thing in the recipe was milk I was looking at the other recipe and it said 1/4 cups of milk well I was doubling the recipe so I put in 2 1/4 cups and then mum came in and said the mixture looks very runny for sponge cake then she checked the recipe and I had been looking at the wrong recipe and you were only supposed to put in 2 tbs of milk in. so here goes I put it in the oven I am waiting for it to cook I will let you all know the results

Yesterday we went to our friends house. David has a real bow and arrow from Kenya. we did some target practice with it ! I stood against a bored and Davids Dad traced around me with road paint and we used my shape as a target . It was fun I will post again soon

We have a big tree in our back garden every Autumn it covers the ground with leaves on one of my other posts I put a picture of a shelter we built well we used all the leaves to cover it .

flying kites!

I am going to write this post about what I have been making resently.
Me and my older brother made a kite each he has a book on how to make that kind of thing. first of all we got some Dowel ( a kind of wood ) and made the frame we let it dry over night and then we got some thin string and stretched it around the frame ( for the kites sail to go round ) finally we glued the cloth sail ( or what ever you call it ) around the string and let it dry.( One day later ) I made the ribbons for the string and fastened them to the kite. Now it's ready to fly I hope we get a windy day soon.

Recently I started a nature journal. This is a finch that I painted in it. There are more pictures on our nature blog. I hope to do some every week.

Today we had lots of snow. We went to the field behind our house. The sheep were all covered in snow. We were hoping it would lie but the rain started and melted it all.

Today I started a nature journal. We went to a place called the Address house it's a big estate with a big house on it. It is owned by the national trust. We went on a walk through the grounds.

wood carving

Sorry I haven't been blogging. Me and my brother have been wood carving so I haven't been on the computer much. I made a axe out of wood. First I cut out the shape then I filed and chiseled it in to shape finally I sanded it smooth. so that's what I have been doing. Its my turn to wash the dishes!! got to go !!!

going to the beach!!!

Today we went down to a beach near Portrush where we discovered lots of caves. We found lots of lime stone and volcanic rocks!

My brother brought some volcanic rock home here are some photos.

my brother was baking a banoffee pie just as he was about to take it out the fridge he dropped it ooooohhhhhh noooooooo its all over the floor its a big mess i was looking forwards to banoffee pie for pudding oh well.

here is the recipe we used at our friends house

Potato Bread.

Boil or steam 2lb potatoes with or without jackets. (make sure you peel after cooking if not before)
Mash potatoes well to a smooth consistency.
Add 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbsp melted butter and 4oz plain flour and mix well. (you could do this with the potato masher).
Roll dough out gently on a well floured surface, to form a circle about 1/2 inch thick. Using a knife dipped in flour cut into slices as you would divide a round cake. (it is quite sticky and doesn't need much working with - if you find it is too sticky work in a little more flour)
Using a palette knife or egg slice, lift pieces onto a hot griddle or frying pan which has been lightly greased with butter.
Cook until it starts to turn a golden colour and feels firm to touch, then flip over and cook the other side. In Ulster this bread is traditionally eaten for breakfast as part of the famous "Ulster fry" with fried bacon, eggs, tomatoes etc.

Unofficial show & tell

Sorry for the lose of images earlier ... we are experiencing technical difficulties.

This is CJ's Mama here ... doing a bit of blog hacking. He recently asked me to help him upload a profile photo and requested it be a 'serious' one, which was very, very funny. The lizard one was decided on but since, I've had several complaints from his nibs and he wants it changed ... reckons that he looks "goofy"! Which one do you think should be the new profile photo? It was a tough job narrowing it down to the following eight.

sorry have not been on much!!

sorry i have not been blogging for a while i have been on the other computer. Dad got a new computer game Colin mcrae 4 it is a rally game so i have not been on this computer much

show and tell Friday again!!!!!

On Wednesday we went to our friend's house and made two types of potato bread. One was plain and the other was apple potato bread which is potato bread with stewed apples in the middle.

We cooked it on a griddle over the fire which is how they used to cook before electic stoves. Potato and apple bread is from Armagh where they grow lots of apples.

Potatoes were the main crop in Ireland. When the crops failed in the potato famine lots of people died and lots of other people moved to America. Here is a link to learn more about it. Potato Famine

more baking

me and Bethany are baking carrot cake I have just finished the lunch dishes me and my brother are going are going outside now to use our walkie talkies we got for our birthday. we have a big field out the back of our garden and our neighbors said we could go in it . I will post some pictures soon.

sniff sniff I think I should go and check it.
