I have been learning Hebrew for the past couple of days, and its been really fun.I highly reccomend it for anyone who wants to read the Hebrew version of the Bible. Its a good thing to be able to read the Hebrew version of the Bible(.Not that I can!)because throughout the years, the different translators of the Bible have reinterpeted some of the words to make it easier to understand. For instance, the KJV,In Genesis 1:21 says: "And God created great whales,"... but the Hebrew word that the KJV translated as whale really means sea-monster.The KJV translaters didn't do this on purpose. The problem was that the best thing they could come up with was a whale. While we're on the subject of sea-monsters instead of whales, did you know that all of the Christian artwork from the 4th-6th centuries have pictures of Jonah being swallowed and spit out by a kind of sea serpent instead of a whale? So the story could easily be Jonah and the sea-monster instead of Jonah and the whale!
