On The Heart and Mind:
Wow, it’s that time of year again. School sales and re adjusting back to school routines…meaning good sleeping schedule. I am thankful that it has been getting darker earlier and then it isn’t hard to say the good old phrase…”Bed time !”. Now I have to admit that I am pretty bushed by 8:30 – 9pm and I really look forward to those wonderful words. I am looking forward to the routine we have around the school year. It just sounds so cozy right now and I am looking forward to it. I am looking forward to having our lessons “in” our Learning room. ( we have been schooling for the last couple of years in our dinning room. More on that in a moment.)
On The Home Front:
Oh, how busy it has been for me on the homestead. I have been determined to get my Learning room TOTALLY dusted and have been working in there at least 4 hours each day minus a few days. I have dusted every nook and crany, book, game, shelf, and anything else you can think of. It has felt so good to do this and it has been long over due. I have been able to sort and organise and it just feels good ! I have a pile to give away and I have recycled and thrown away lots. I have been able to bless Philip and Essie with a dresser and a nice dinning room table because wanting to make room for a love seat couch. I really want to make a cozy and inviting space for our learning this year. The woodstove is in our LR and I know it is going to be a place that would be wonderful to curl up and read a book there. And… I also plan to do some needle work there too. *grin* I will be showing pictures of the Learning Room on Tackle it Tuesday with Celticmom.
Here is some things I harvested this week…
Finished Apple Sausing ( actually I think I will have another tree to deal with. I am so glad we can bless Philip and Essie with plenty of apple sause the winter. *grin*)

Chopped and froze some of our sweet peppers for pizza this winter. ( I still have more to do this week)

Cut and froze plums to make jam ( with Essie) in the late fall when things settle down.

Having fun taking pictures…work in progress.

In My Craft Corner:
This area went in dormat this week. I used up all my energy each day cleaning the Learning Room and keeping my family fed and clothed with clean clothes. Maybe… next week. But I did set up my sewing desk in the Learning Room. Ohhh and I have looked at some sewing books that are now on my wish list ! I am determined to learn how to sew simple clothes this school year. I had messed up so much fabric in the early years of my marriage. When trying to sew on my own… without the usual help from my mom. And I ended up having to learn how to quilt ( strait seams are so much easier you know ? [0= ) to use up all the fabric. This time I need to start simple. *grin*
On The Heathy Side:
Even though I didn’t get to my Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone ((blush)) I do have some good news. I have been taking my vitamins and herb suppliments very faithfully. And I tried out some fruit that I have been allergic to for at least 10 years or more now. And I didn’t have a reaction ! ((HAPPY DANCE)) Ohh that opens up so many doors for me now with food. I did read that things like Magnesium and other vitamins help and they have. *grin* Now, I can eat some of the fruit that is grown on our homestead and not have a reaction.
I have also noticed that my energy is lasting longer in the day. I don’t seem to get so tired now till more in the early evening instead of the early afternoon. Plus, my hair looks not frizzy and so much better. What a blessing all this is. I am contantly rejoicing and give my Lord all the credit. I feel that my healing is moving so much faster than I thought it would take and it has to be b/c the Lord is doing it. Slowly but surely I am getting more and more healthy.

Last week Shani and I were in a slump looking at projects that felt too huge for us to deal with. That revivied the need for another Anit Procrastination Project Challenge. As we had started working on our projects Lori jumped into the challenge too. Today we are showing our before and progress pictures. I still have some more work this week to finish up mine. I was slowed down by needing to deal with the harvest of beans, apples, and basil. The making of apple sause really slowed me down but very thankful for it. I am hoping and praying to get the Learning room done so I can start lessons IN it next week.
((cringe)) Here is a before picture… the truth comes out of our catch all. ((blush))

Now for the current but not last picture….

I still have a few more days worth of work. But today I have to finish canning the apples sause and blanching the beans. I am not sure when Shani and I will be showing the after pictures but I think Lori already has. Yeah Lori ! If you have a APC project you need to be cheered in just let us know and we will cheer you on.
Blessings<><

On the Heart and Mind:
I had a blessed reminder yesterday. I was surfing a bit and ended up at the Homeschool Lounge. I read what I had wrote just over a year ago . We were in the thick of my 1ds being so sick that we weren’t sure what was going to happen next. He was suffering from a virus that attacted his platelets and he was at zero count. They weren’t sure at the time if he Leukima or not. I just remember being in a place I don’t want to go again. But we were blessed that it was a virus that was treated and he got better. Now at this time this year we are in the midst of getting ready for Philip to be getting married. I started to bawl at the thought of the two extremes. We are so blessed and we are so thankful for all that is going on. I love that we are able to plan all kinds of good things to happen this coming year and Lord willing we will get have them happen. I am counting my many blessings and naming them one by one.
On the Home Front:
Well, this week I did work on the apples and got about half processed. If be for apple sause or frozen apple slices for pies and crisps. I didn’t expect it but am soooooo thankful that Shani, Lori, and I are in the midst of a Anti Procrastination Challenge. ( I hoasted a meme called this a while back. ) We gals had some huge projects that REALLY needed to cheered through. So the challenge began! ( we are going to be posting before, during pics and details on Tuesday) I am working on my learning room. I am very excited that I am making real good head way. I am starting to feel like we will be able to start school this year IN the learning room and not in the dinning room. YIPPPEEEE (((HAPPY DANCE))))
Plus this is what I have also been processing from the garden….

And….
(minus the red one that is bought [0= )

My Craft Corner:
I have to admit I have been needing some projects that I don’t have to think much and something that is easy to pick up and put down when ever needed. These are some that have been worked on….

and….

On The Healthy Side:
Some ways this week has been better. In the mornings I feel so good and feel like I am finally getting good nights of sleep. But by the afternoon I am dragging. I need to remember to take my apple cider tonic. I found out a few years ago when the farmers had those extra long days to get the harvest in they would drink this for a extra boost to get things done. So I take that as my way to get through the end of the day. It really does work ! I didn’t get my Walk Away the Pounds started this week. I lost 3 lbs this week ! I think my body is releasing the pounds finally. ((HAPPY DANCE )) I was determined to put in 4 hours a day into cleaning my learning room and then another 2-4 hours in processing apples. I need to start my day with a work out or otherwise it just doen’t happen. ( try try again) To help pass the time when I was cutting up apples I watched Anne of Green Gables movies. I just love these movies. Yes mom…I know these drove you crazy. lol
In the Kitchen:
Well…apple sause, frozen slices, and apple crisps, blanching and freezing beans, rinsing and freezing basil.

On the Heart and Mind:
So much to do and how will I do it ??? How is it that I work so hard to weed things out and I still feel I have TONS to do ? Okay I have to accept life keeps moving if I do or don’t . I find it a juggle to get time to read for hs’ing, take time to craft, have family time and time to fellowship, and still keep up with daily needs. This year it feels like the end of summer just snuck up on me ! I so many things to do before school starts and it will be a big push. But I have to tell myself to take one step at a time and one project at a time and everything will come together. I have to tell myself I don’t have to have ALL things perfect on the first day of school. I will keep moving forward and I will keep making goals to meet each week. And I have to trust that all will come together just fine. This year I got the book by Emilie Barnes …”The 15-Minute Organizer”. I really like what I have read so far. The first chapter is on goal making. Boy, did this give me a good perspective. I am also starting to use The CM Orgainizer this year. I need a way to keep records and have a easy to use planning medium and this seemed to REALLY fit my style. ((happy dance))
Well, this last week was a good and busy one. Handsome and I went and saw a basement sweet for our 1ds and his wife to be. We found it realy nice and everyone is so happy for them. Now we just have wait till they get here in October. It is only 10 weeks to go ! I also figured out my outfit for the wedding and that eases my mind a bit. Life is full and good.
On the Home-front:
As I said the end of the summer just snuck up on me ! I have been blanching and freezing green beans, freezing basil, and now this week Handsome and I will be making applesause and can it. Also this week I need to finish up making the candles I want to take to sell at the fall festival.

My Craft Corner:
I have been getting on knitting side tracks. ((blush)) I have been having a lot of fun on Ravelry ( a free site for knitters and crocheters). If you join I am Canadagirl there. [0= I hope you look for me. I have found all kinds of free patterns and inspiration of how I can bust my stash of yarn. I am very limited today for time so I will post pictures of my latest knitting on Tuesday.
On The Healthy Side:
This is the part of my life that is really been a focus this last couple of weeks. I have made a lot of changes and I am really seeing some benefits. I have taken myself off all coffee and black teas. I started drinking green tea ( my favorite is Tazo with lemon grass and spearmint) ,drinking Apple Cider Tonic ( 1 Tbsp ACV and 1 rounded tsp of honey) and taking vitamins and supplement that help adrenal gland fatigue. There is also another site I really like to help with this. This week I am determined to start my “Walking Away the Pounds” with Leslie Sansone and start some stomach exercises. I need to pace myself on this one. I need to get moving but at the same time not too much.( which can deplete the adrenal glands if you do too much) I have to make sure it isn’t going to deplete my adrenal glands. I have to keep telling myself baby-steps…take baby steps.
In the Kitchen:
Today I am making Zucchini Bread for the family get together. No, we didn’t grow this one. This year has been a very simple year in our garden and we were blessed with the excess of someones else’s garden.
On my nightstand are….
I have soooooooooo much I want to read but so limited of time. I am trying to figure out what I need to read first. ((sigh)) But I do want to read….
