Today’s reading was a story about a little boy catching fireflies with his grandparent’s, just like his daddy had caught fireflies with them years earlier. The little boy’s grandparents had saved for Nathan the very same firefly jar that his daddy had used. At the end of the story, one of the questions was "Why do you think Nathan’s grandparents saved the firefly jar his daddy had used when he was a little boy?". The "correct" answer was: "Because they knew Nathan would like to use something his daddy had used" OR "They thought it would be nice for Nathan to do things just like his daddy had done as a little boy".
Asrat’s answer: "Because they didn’t want to have fireflies pooping in a lot of their jars, so they saved just one to catch fireflies in. That way only one jar ever got poop in it".

And as homeschoolers, we can accept that totally legitimate answer [smile]. Keep up the great work!

That is too funny, Maggie! He's such a smarty…..I wouldn't want to clean out a bunch of jars with firefly poop in them either!
