Going Against the Grain

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - Kreative Kayla

Kayla finally decided to make a project for herself.  She is so often working on something for someone else.  She found a pattern she loved and has been diligently working on it for a couple months now.  Part of the reason it took her so long was that when she would run out of yarn, she waited to buy more until the yarn which was regularly $6 a roll, went on sale.  She was a very good steward of her money and faithfully every other week she'd watch the sales and would get her yarn for .99 cents.  She finally finished it a week or so ago.  It turned out so well.  We were in awe of her talent!  Also, she has been little by little decorating her room with a Hawaiian theme.  She and her sisters worked for hours making a "grass" bed skirt.  It looks great!

She's going to remember that for a long time. I remember things I did or made myself more than most other things. I think it is beautiful and will match her hawaiian theme very well. What a way to be frugal and to use her money wisely having patience for the yard prices. Good job Kayla!
