Well it is that time again. Sometimes I think that being on a diet at the holidays in for the birds. Then I get up this morning.....and I lost a pound. How you ask? I am not sure. I was all ready to post that my goal is not to gain weight this season and maintain. Well that still is my ultimate goal, but I lost another pound, SCORE!! There are soooo many opportunities to get off tract this time of year. I am trying to keep my portions down, but I am eating what I want. I have had a few sweets as well. As far as the sweets, only ONE serving in a 48-72 hour period. However with Christmas being tomorrow, I may have 1 today and 1 tomorrow. My exercising has been horrible. I have road the bike a couple times only this past week. I am on the run and I have had sick kids. All that being said, I know I can do it!!! Even when life comes at you full force....I still can lose. YIPPEE.
I know that down below is linked to Tina, but I wanted to give her praise here as well. Go read her post it is soooo inspiring. She has lost 17.2lbs and she is unable to do the big cardio workouts. She has to do special exercise due to her condition. She makes me cry this morning with joy for her. WAY TO GO TINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is that time again....
This is a very busy time for everyone and eating properly and on a schedule can be almost impossible. We had a wedding last week and a 10 day trip. While it was absolutely WONDERFULL!!!!!!!! The diet did take a back burner. I tried eating as healthfully as possible, but sometimes the options were not great. Also even though I felt like I took a million steps in Disney, it was not my usual cardio workout. The first couple of days home were tough as well due to being tired and no groceries at home. I made it to the store Monday and restocked the kitchen with the healthy foods. I am also back drinking my water. In addition I ran out of my thyroid med while on my trip (no fault of my own....I tried for three days before I left to get it called in...that is a whole other story, that I AM NOT happy about) anywhoooo....I was without my med for 6 days. Doing without it makes it impossible to lose weight. When I arrived home I had gained two pounds.
As of this AM I have lost 26.5 pounds. (which means the 2 from Disney are gone and 0.5 more)
I want to share with you a great website that I have joined. You can track everything on the site and have your own page. However I do not keep up with my page, but they send great articles to my inbox every day. Also you can customize the type of articles that come to you. This site is http://www.sparkpeople.com/
There is ton of great info on the site.

Well it is that time again....
This past week was Thanksgiving, so sticking to a diet can be was hard. We did a lot of visiting. There was very little food options for a girl trying to eat healthy. I was limited in getting to exercise. I also have an injury. The Friday after Thanksgiving, I was running down a flight of stairs and missed the last two. I sprained my ankle. I am able to walk okay now, however it still feels weak. (means no running~I can ride the bike) All that being said I still was able to lose 1 lb. My goal was just not to gain last week. So yippee, I lost. I did stick to my goal of NO sugar. There were pies and cakes, all my favs. However, I did not eat one bite. My splurge was my ma-maw's chicken and dumplings, YUMMY!! So the total weight loss has been 26 lbs.
I have 2 tips for this week:
1. When cooking...chew sugar free gum. It will keep you from snacking while cooking. (I was always bad to do this....no telling how many calories I "snacked" on then ate a plate of food.)
2. If you have ate and still feel hungry, go brush your teeth. This will take out the desire to want to eat.
*Both of these tips will help you from over eating AND have the added bonus of clean breath.

First of all, I want to wish each of you a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a very blessed day with your family.
Well this is the most difficult time in the year for weight loss. From now until New Year's there will be a lot of opportunities to eat and celebrate. How do we not over do it? Will we make it through the holiday's without gaining weight? Can we do it?
This is my plan....
~I am going to exercise every day throughout the holidays. I usually take 2 days off, but not this week.
~I am going to keep drinking my water. I do not drink anything but Diet Pepsi (caffeine free) and water. So this is not going to be hard for me. (I know I may be the only southerner that does not drink sweet tea, but I do not like it~ I do not like coffee either, I know, gasp)
~I am going to eat sensible all week, except Thursday.
~On Thursday I plan to have 1 meal that I just eat what I want too. My plan is to eat more veggies and salads, along with the bad.
~This may be shocking...I do not plan to eat any sweets. I can live without them now. I have been on this journey for several weeks and sweets are just too sweet now. This is hard to believe, because I was a sweet junky before. (I do love sugar free jello pudding though.) I plan to have fruit for my dessert.
~I plan to have a great time with my family, and celebrate ALL of God's goodness.
My weightloss so far: 25lbs and 8in in waist

My Post~~ Well as weeks go, this has NOT been the best week!!!! I have been gone more than I like, not drank enough water, and not exercised as long as I usually do. I am going to always be real in these posts. If I fail, you will know. I usually weigh every day (I know, I know, you are not supposed to). However, I only document my weight on Wednesdays. I had gained two pounds this week. This AM I am down 1 of those. So I will have to change my ticker~ I have lost 23 lbs so far. Considering the week, I am glad it was not more. I realize where I failed this week, I am thankful of that. When you are in the run, you have to prepare in advance, if you want to eat right. I mainly ate fairly good choices while out, but they were not many "good" choices.
I always have one meal a week that I have whatever I want. This week was no exception. We were out of town. My family requested to go to a restaurant known for its greasy foods. They had no real choices for me, so I said.....I always have one meal that I blow it...so this will be it. I am proud to say, I did not care for it at all. This is a meal that I would have normally loved, but it was gross. I am proud that I hated this meal ;0).
So on Monday and Tuesday, I was determined to get my exercise in, no matter the time. I am proud to report that I did exercise....it was after midnight both nights.....but I did not go to bed until I was done!!! I think that is why I lost the 1 of the 2 lbs, confessed earlier.
Well, next week will be a challenge as well.......come back next Wednesday for tips for a day that we normally all over eat. See you then!!
