A Post of Many Colors

Posted on Feb. 28, 2008 at 10:26 PM in My Life

Health Prayers and updates-

First off, Please Pray for my dear friend  Jocelyn's youngest brother. Caleb is two years old and is very sick. He had to be taken to the emergency room two days ago. Pray God will heal his little body!!!! More information at Jocelyn's, Amanda's, and Mrs. Dixon's blog.

Second, My grandmother had her cancer surgery. They had to take one whole side of her chest muscles. She is feeling really well, getting tired at some points but otherwise is still up and moving around doing stuff she is not suppose to do while healing ;) Love you grandma! Mom and Brandon flew up to Seattle yesterday to help around my Grandmother's house. Brandon enjoyed his VERY FIRST airplane ride. Mom said he did very well on the plane and when he got off he turned to mom and said 'Thank you for taking me on the plane Mommy'

Some important stuff-

I never did get to take a full week of pictures for Brooke's 'Feelin Feminine Challenge'. So Sorry Brooke my dear! I did take two pictures yesterday to make up for the days I didn't So here they are.

I basically just took a simple outfit and made it feminine by added giant pearl bracelets and a white puka necklace. I contrasted the green with tan and both with brown shoes. haha honestly this is my fave outfit I wear it all the time. :)

I actually can't post the other picture until tomorrow. Its on the other computer so... Stay Tuned..

Anyway, Brooke, Jocelyn, and Amanda, are continuing the challenge  to a 'One week outta the month' type thing. The end week of each month will be that "Challenge Week". Like I have said over and over I wear skirts all the time so it's not hard for me but I will post a random picture of one of my outfits in that end week.

Julia's 2008 book shelf-

I have seen a bunch of people posting 'Book Lists'. I try to read books but my life is so busy that I rarely have time. But that doesn't stop me from going to the library to check out some books.  I also like to reread books so here is my "Book Basket"

Books in my "Book Basket" are:

* What in the World Should I Wear? - By Mrs. Cathy Corle
* Becoming Behavior -By Ruth Harvey
* Promiseland -By Dawn Miller
* Letter Perfect -Cathy Marie Hake (Rereading)
* The Measure of a Lady -Deanne Gist (Rereading)
* Romeo and Juliet -Shakespeare
* Emma -Jane Austen
* Persuasion -Jane Austen
* Pride & Prejudice -Jane Austen
* Smithsonian Handbooks: Mammals (Rereading)
* Tiger in the Snow! - Peter Matthissen
* Mammal tracking in North America (comes in handy :) )
* Camels in Nevada -Douglas McDonald (I actually finished reading this and am going to post about it)
* Mountain Lion Field Guide -Harley G. Shaw (done reading)
* A Countess Below Stairs - Eva Ibboston

And Currently I am reading The Faerie Path by Frewin Jones ,which I am enjoying :)

I am really sorry if this post is all jumble mess, I need sleep lol! Nighty Night

-Julia

Hi Jules ~ I've been praying for your grandma. Thanks for giving us an update!

That's a cute outfit! I wish I lived in AZ so I could wear short sleeves at this time of year. :-) I'm participating in the challenge this week too. It's been fun.

I like your book basket. That's a good idea - keeping all the books you're working on in one place. Mine tend to be scattered about my room. :-)

Have a good day!

I have some of the same books on my list too. I love Persuasion! It was so good! I am going to read Mansfield Park next... as soon as the library gets it in!
Sorry you miss your horses. Maybe someday we will live close enough that you can ride and help care for mine! ;)

Mar. 2, 2008 Thanks

Posted by JacqueDixonSoulRestES

for the prayers.... we REALLY appreciate them dear!

I am sorry about your Grandma, and I hope things continue to go well. I will pray for her healing, that it goes well and quickly.
My grandparents are still alive, and I have been asking the Lord to show me what to do to talk to them about Him. They live a couple of hours away, and I would love to talk to them about it, but it has to be His Timing... Of course, since they are both older.... it has to be soon! Jocelyn did write them a wonderful letter, and I am praying that they will find it and take it to heart. whatever His plans are... as long as they hear Him. From whomever it takes!

Nice pictures! I have really enjoyed seeing the girls in skirts for the Challenge. It seems like it has been fun for you girls.

blessings~ MrsD

I'm glad to hear that everything went well with your grandmother's surgery. And I'm glad your mom and brother made it up there to Seattle safely! :-)

I love your "Book Basket"!!! And I love the books that are in it!!! If I'm not mistaken, I think Sarah has "Letter Perfect". I'm gonna have to read that book really soon! :-)

We're all doing great today! And great job on the "ya'll". :-D

Can you believe that I can't even remember seeing a code at the end of the movie! Thanks for sending the code fro the video to me. :) I can't wait to put it on my blog!!! :-)
Well, hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

lots of hugs,
Jordan Lee

Mar. 4, 2008 No way!!!

Hey, you have Becoming Behavior?! Where'd YOU get it at?! We have that book and it came from some self publishing company!!! it was one of their sample books so you could see what your book would look like, but my mom read it and loved it, I haven't read it yet. That's so weird that you have it too!!!!

I'll keep praying for your grandma!! I'm glad she's doing better now though, that must be a relief to you!

And you don't know how bad I wanted to wear pants the other day but I sucked it up and said "Nope. Not gonna" and you'd be proud of me!!! ^_^ I'm sure one day I'll have to wear pants because all my skirts are dirty (*giggle* I almost had to today because I didn't have any skirts left!) but for now it's been um...almost 3 weeks or 4 weeks and I haven't wore pants once!!! ^_^

We need to talk again!!!! ^_^

Love you girl!!

Mar. 6, 2008 Hey!

Posted by dixiefiddler

Hey Julia!

I am feeling much, MUCH better! Thank you! But mom is still having trouble getting over it. So please be praying for her. ^_^

You can call at just about any time I think. We are almost always home.....well, sometimes....lol! You can call anytime, and if we aren't home, we'll just call you back. Unless of course, you cal at 3:00 in the morning. Then that would NOT be cool. lol! ^_^

Phantom of the Opera is a VERY romantic movie. It's one of my favorites movies. My mom thinks it's one of the boring-est movies on the face of the earth. But Jordan and I like it. ^_^ (I think you'll like it....if you like opera) ^_^

Have a blessed day,
Sarah
