Done!

After cooking for 5.5 hours straight, my feet look like they belong to an elephant, but I'm done!

I had a midwife appointment first thing today. And I'm not going to tell you how much I gained in one week. I told Kenton what I thought I'd gained and I was right. I slept with my feet propped up the night before hoping to avoid a massive weight gain due to the puffiness I've seemed to acquire this past week, and while that did help the swelling go down quite a bit (and caused several trips to the bathroom), it didn't lessen the weight gain as I'd hoped. Now the swelling's not just in my legs and feet, but my face too. I hate when my face gets fat when I'm pregnant. It always does though. Anyway, other than that, everything in that department is going great. Now we're just playing the waiting game. My midwife told my baby today that she's welcome to come out anytime now. :)

After that, I had a hair appointment. I needed a cut and color BAD. I also had my eyebrows waxed. Hee-hee! That took 2.5 hours, and no, my eyebrows weren't the cause. I like the color, the cut's okay. You pay salon prices here for a Supercuts quality hair cut. But that's a story for another day.

When I got home, my parents were here. My mom came over to help me with my little project I wanted to get done. We cooked 9 large meals tonight so that we can have several home cooked, quick, easy meals after the baby arrives. We made a great team! I'd still be cooking (past midnight) if she hadn't come over to help. My feet are KILLING me and they're HUGE. Oh well, that's done! Yay!

My dad helped too- he chopped onions, took my boys to get very much needed haircuts (and wouldn't let me pay him back, the stinker!), brought home a couple of pizzas, did dishes, swept & vacuumed for me! I need to have them over more often! :)

We are finishing up our last week of school this coming week.... which is really our 3rd week into our new school year (which will give us more time off with the baby over the summer). I'm looking forward to the break, but in a way would like to just keep going till she gets here! We'll see. It may depend on the weather too.

Okay, I'm tired and just rambling so I'll end here!

How exciting! I'm sure it feels great to have all those meals ready for when you have the little one. And it was so nice of your parents to come help. What a blessing.

Good Morning, Alyssa!

It feels like ages since I've visited. I'm so glad to see that things are right on schedule with your pregnancy; and wow, are you kicking the preparedness butt or what?! Cooking, schooling- you are going to be *so* glad you did all that! What a blessing your parents were to you over the weekend as well!

I hope your week is lovely, peaceful, and pretty uneventful (unless the baby is ready to come, lol!). I'll check back in with you soon - I need to get moving on my day!

Love,
Shani

I have found it really does help to have extra meals in the freezer. I just put up 4 meals yesterday and I have a big pot of beans cooking right now, all for my freezer. I counted up how many meals I have or the main meat for a meal and I have 26 so far. My goal is to get to 40 or so. I hope to be blessed again soon and now I'll be prepared, and if not then I have lots of free time coming my way when dinner time comes. :)

It sounds like you have really wonderful parents. Congratulations on getting all that done before the baby. I've often wanted to do that, but when it comes time for the end of the pregnancy I always feel exhausted.
