Well, life is crazy busy here but a good kind of busy. Julianna is a sweet, sweet baby and I just love her so much already. I love just touching her tiny fingers and toes (like the rest of my children, she's got her daddy's toes- long and skinny!). I love watching her sleep and kissing her sweet cheeks. I love her smell. I love her little sqeaks and grunts. Even if she has kept me up until 2-3am grumping these past 3 nights. We'll get through it and I'm not going to let that interfere with enjoying my new baby girl.
And why didn't someone tell me about the Moby Wrap 5 babies ago?! (maybe it wasn't around then!?) I L-O-V-E that thing! And so does Julianna! I kind of like that I can cover her face up pretty good so while we're out in public, she's a little more protected from germs and things. I used to use a Snugli- you can only put baby in 2 positions in that thing & it always gave me a headache if I wore it for any length of time. The straps dug into my shoulders after a while. Baby's weight is so evenly distributed with the Moby Wrap. Ahem. Julianna has not taken one nap or even slept at night in her bed yet.
I also have a new stash of cloth diapers that I love- Kissaluvs fitted diapers. I sometimes use a wool wrap over the top & sometimes a Bumkins. The wool wrap is adorable but the Bumkins are trimmer.
Another thing different about this baby is they told us before we left the hospital that they no longer suggest you do any sort of special care for the umbilical cord. They told us we could give her tub baths and we didn't have to clean it with alcohol. And you know what? We followed that advice and it healed nicely and fell off on day 7.
I took some pictures of Julianna this evening. She was FAST asleep and I caught some of those sweet sleepy smiles. But first, here's her tiny little hand:
Showing off her Norwegian facial features:
See? She does have some hair.... it's just all in the back. *sigh*
Sleepy smiles:
With dimple:
And these I took last week. I think I was excited to be able to lay on my tummy to take pictures again. Not very exciting, but....

Millie, who gave me 11 tries, and that's it:
Moody Millie- she's good at the moody look:
Wow! Those are some BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! Lessons...please!! I'm gonna have to scroll down through all your posts now looking for photography tips. Any particular camera better than others? I wanna take pics like that! And such beautiful children! I love the newbie infant stage too...all those smiles, coos, cuddles, etc. Just love it.
I love seeing your pictures!
I am so glad to hear that you are all adjusting to a new little one. The first 2-3 weeks are always my hardest. The sleep deprivation is insane!
Anyway, I use a hotsling with Rachel. We used it in the hospital when she was a few hours old too. I love it and wish I had heard about it sooner. I'll have to look into the wrap you mentioned. I love to wear my babies and toddlers as long as I don't kill my back.

Well, I'm not going to post too many crummy ones but it's nice to have one SOOC that looks like I kinda know what I'm doing. I've been discouraged lately with the number of bad ones vs good ones. Something always seems to be off.
Kisses to Julianna

Thank you! I like to think you did this just for me LOL. Oh man I could stare at her all day. She's so beautiful. Kiss those cheeks for me!! (and that dimple!)

Have you ever seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Ya know--"Truly Scrumptious"? :) Julianna is that! Those cheeks are so chubby and yummy, and what a sweet smile, Alyssa. I LOVE those early, asleep smiles. She's just beautiful.
Does Josiah like matchbox cars? Josh does, too. :) We started off using them as a sorting game with like colors being all grouped together. But now he actually uses them to make 'brrrrrr' noises and 'drives' them like it appears Josiah was doing in the pictures. I love photos of small things like a little toddler hand on a grubby car. So cute.
Millie's eyes in that b&w just POP, Alyssa. So cool--and she's beautiful. I love the one of Gracie. I think that name fits her so well. She gave you 11 tries?! That's pretty nice of her! ;)
Get some sleep, sweetie, and thanks for posting again.(I'm checking your page way more than I should for a new update--LOL)
Love-
Lis
Fabulous pictures as always. I love all of them. They show the personalities of your kids so well. I think the baby picture with the sleepy smiles looks a lot like your pics of Josiah. I just love all the similarities and differences between siblings. I think it's part of God's design.
All of the pictures (this post and the coordinating outfit one that follows) are just so lovely!! Julianna is beautiful, and the older children look like they're having a ball (well, except for Josiah in the group picture.... and Millie in the moody picture.... well, and Julianna in the three sisters picture..... oh, you get the idea)!
Imagine my delight when, after a few days' absence, I see not one, but TWO picture posts for our viewing pleasure!! I've been away because of packing the boys for their trip and Piper's 8th grade graduation and wrapping up the school year... but all is settling down now, and I have one quiet home! :)
Have a lovely day, my friend, and enjoy your babies!!
love,
Shani
Alyssa,
Isn't that butterfly picture something. I took it (and all those on my blog today) with a Fuji Finepix. Almost makes the big Canon more of a pain than it's worth at times. If that little Fuji takes photos like that....with nothing done to it ...SOOC! UGH...are the big guys worth it? Well, maybe when the light's bad and all that jazz. Good light...good photos, huh??
I can only imagine with all the hormones that killing the dog might have sounded like a good option today, huh???
Thinking of you...
