• Sep. 26, 2005 - Acronicta hesperida [Noctuidae]

Posted in Daily Log

We found a strange caterpillar today and were able to identify it as Acronicta hesperida[Noctuidae] thanks to The Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center.  Unfortunately we have not been able to find much more information on it.  We did, however, go to www.enchantedlearning.com to study then label a worksheet on caterpillar anatomy.

For math today, we reviewed our multiplication tables by watching the School House Rock movie. After that we got to add negative and positive numbers.  I didn’t remember going over negative numbers with Chelsey last year, but she says we did.  We must have, because she picked up the whole concept so quickly!  I’m pretty excited, because now I know for sure that her mind has really opened up to abstract thinking and we’ll be able to delve deeper into math and other subjects.   All in all it was a great homeschooling day.
