I was referred to this site today, and have found it to be a worthwhile and honorable charity. That is a rare commodity in this day and age, and this group is worth visiting daily. It doesn't cost you anything, just click on the button. Nothing bad will happen - only good - you will be providing food for those who need it desperately! Won't you join with me in doing just this small part in helping another by showing our love as our Lord had given us command to do?
Thank you!

About The Hunger Site
The Hunger Site was founded to focus the power of the Internet on a specific humanitarian need: the eradication of world hunger. Since its launch in June 1999, the site has established itself as a leader in online activism, helping to feed the world's hungry. On average, over 220,000 individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the yellow "Help Feed The Hungry" button. To date, more than 200 million visitors have given more than 300 million cups of staple food.
The staple food funded by clicks at The Hunger Site is paid for by site sponsors and distributed to those in need by Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to our charitable partners. Funds are split between these organizations and go to the aid of hungry people in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America.
All of us here at The Hunger Site are also deeply moved by the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. Learn how you can help!
Hunger: Do You Know The Facts?
It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year.
About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.
Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.
The Hunger Site began on June 1, 1999. In 1999, a year marked by good economic news, 31 million Americans were food insecure, meaning they were either hungry or unsure of where their next meal would come from. Of these Americans, 12 million were children.
How You Can Help In Mere Seconds — Every Day
The Hunger Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent hunger deaths every day — through easy and quick online activities.
With a simple, daily click of the yellow "Help Feed The Hungry" button at The Hunger Site, visitors help provide food to those in need. Visitors pay nothing. Food is paid for by the site's sponsors and distributed by Mercy Corps worldwide and by America’s Second Harvest to food banks throughout the United States.
Please remember to click every day to give help and hope to those most in need. Every click counts in the life of a hungry person.
You Can Help Even More
In addition to clicking the yellow "Help Feed The Hungry" button, visitors can help more by shopping in The Hunger Site store. With each item purchased, shoppers generate funds for the hungry. The store offers a wide array of items to show your support as well as fair-traded and handcrafted items from around the world that help families and communities pull themselves out of the poverty and hunger cycle.
Over the last couple of months, I have been totally overwhelmed with so many different *projects*, that I just haven't had an opportunity to browse the web and discover new websites. Oh, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of websites that are great, but I have been wanting to search out a particular type of website to feature here on Nuggets of Wisdom.
Well, the opportunity has arisen today for me to have that very opportunity, and I found exactly what I was searching for! Hallelujah! It's the website of Hidden Wisdom Magazine, and is just loaded with wonderful information. I urge you to check out the sample articles page - lots and lots of godly wisdom is there!
I have been extremely blessed by this site this afternoon, and will be sending for my subscription to receive this magazine via snail mail. I know you'll be blessed by it, too! Just click on this link to go and discover all of the Hidden Treasures there yourself!
I was completely and totally blessed by a wonderful website today, and it was recommended to me by one of the Singles Ministers at my church. The name of the site is Under the Blood of Christ, and it is the site of a dear and precious gentleman who attends my church.
I know when you go visit his site, you will be tremendously blessed. He is a dear soul, and heads our Motorcycle Ministry. The Lord has done some awesome things in his life, and I know you will truly be encouraged by his testimony that is included on his site.
The Lord has radically changed Les' life in so many ways, and he has dedicated himself to serving Him with his whole heart and his entire life. He is such an inspiration to so many, and reaches out to the lost and dying on a daily basis. Kudos to Les for allowing the Lord to work miraculously in his life! Hallelujah!
Now, I'm still working on many of the pages, but I've got it going...that's a big thing! Soon I will have pictures of my aprons for you to order, as well as the ebooks I've been working on. I just have a few more *kinks* to iron out on the business end of things, and then I'll have it all up for you.
Secondly, I began a new Yahoo group today. It is a group just for receiving my newsletter, with the first one due to come out next month. So, hurry over there and get signed up today so you won't miss any issues! Just click on here:
There is also a sign-up box to your right in my sidebar, and that will take you there as well.
I pray both of these new resources will prove to be invaluable tools to you, and look forward to continuing to bless you in both of these new ventures!
I have two sites I would like to feature this month. They are both *patriotic* and have been a blessing to me.
The first is a site by a gentleman right here in West Virginia. His name is Thomas Pinson, and he's a former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. Here's the link to his site:
It has ever so many wonderful poems (written by him and others), and also his blog is linked there. Many of his poems are patriotic, but he also has some wonderful love poems (they brought tears to my eyes!). I'm not normally *into* poetry, but his is just fabulous! I know you'll be blessed from this site, also.
Enjoy perusing these two wonderful sites, and I'll be sharing another new one with you next month!
I belong to a wonderful group of ladies on the Web. Actually, I belong to a few groups. But the one I'm going to feature this month is the group of Women of Simplicity.
This group is run by Peggy Hostetler. It is a Christian group whose motto is "Encouraging Christian Women to Simplify".
Each of the dear women who belong to WOS are Christians, and they are dedicated to simplifying their lives in order to better serve our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Most of them are married, and dedicated to being better helpmeets to their husbands. They love their children, and many of them homeschool.
Dearest Peggy is a wonderful Christian and a godly woman. She has many different avenues online to offer encouragement to the Christian woman, and she has been a true blessing to me. Today just happens to be her birthday, too! Happy Birthday dearest Peggy!
In order to understand her and our group better, please drop by her website:
This is one site that I am comfortable promoting online, as it is full of godly wisdom and advice, encouragement, exhortation, and blessings. By clicking on her sidebar, you'll be able to learn more about her, her family, read her blog, learn of her different avenues of Christian encouragement for women, and also find the link to join our group.
We would love to have you join us. Each week we are discussing different topics, as well as our general encouragement, recipe sharing, household advice, etc. Our topic this week is in relation to Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, and our daily *chores*, such as Monday-Wash Day, Tuesday-Ironing, etc. We are all sharing what our schedules are throughout the week, and learning a lot from each other in this way.
I know if you stop by her site, and/or join our group, you will be blessed and encouraged. Sometimes it isn't easy being a Christian in today's world. And it's even harder to find sites on the internet that are worthy of spending our valuable time perusing. But this is one I know you will be blessed by!
Check back often as I promote different sites I have been blessed by. There will be a different one featured each month!
This *blog* is a compilation of *Nuggets of Wisdom* I have been blessed to have been taught by the Lord throughout my lifetime. There are child-raising thoughts, relationship thoughts, recipes, craft ideas, and some other goodies thrown in here and there. I pray it is a blessing to all who honor me by reading it.
