Another Birthday, look-more-alike's and missing my sister

Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc

Yesterday was my sister Coco's birthday-- she is now closer to 40 than 30!  CONGRATULATIONS Older Sister of mine! hehe  Would y'all mind hopping over to her blog  and wishing her a (slightly belated) happy birthday? :-)

I love my sister-- she has always been my best friend.  I'm sure I've gotten on her nerves over the years and have beaten her up a time or two when we were little (although I'm sure she totally deserved it!), and yet she still sticks by me.  I love how I can talk to her half a dozen times a day and she still answers the phone (she's obviously a glutton for punishment).  And we really got close when she was prego with Benjamin the same time that I was prego with Dozer.  I highly recommend being prego at the same time as a sister because NO ONE else could possibly be as interested as a prego sister in exactly how big you're getting, how tired you are, what you really wish you could eat and the constant Ugh... it's hard to breathe when you are past the 35 week mark-- oh and all of this repeated several times a day, every day for a very very very long time!

It was really nice having her and her kidlets over this last week-- I miss them already!  Speaking of her kidlets, I must say that my niece Emily is quite a cutie-patootie...

Whenever I see her and Dozer together, I can't help but realize how they look so much alike-- as in bright eyes, blonde hair, and very WHITE.

I'm telling you, they look more like siblings than they do with their real siblings.  The rest of us are more blah blah brown haired and eyed and skinned!

(Ewww... for some reason that gave me the visual of actually being skinned... Oh let me digress for a split second... In my college biology lab, I walked into the lab and thought to myself What is that piece of driftwood doing on the lab counter?  Then I realized it was a skinned cat!  I kid you not.  Startling, it was.  And learning about different muscles the assignment would be, young Jedi.)

Anyhow, moving right along!

It was nice for my littlest man to have a cousin so close in age to play with.  Benjamin is only a month younger than Dozer so they totally understand one another, even when nobody else does.  Nothing like a pair of 3yo boys to make you smile and keep you on your toes!

Okay Coco, you need to hurry up and get your hiney down here-- closer to ME!

You asked what I miss? Well, the list is getting shorter these days since I got a Costco card! :o) I can now get Skippy, oreos, beef hotdogs, good BBQ sauce, Maple syrup, Hershey's chocolate, and Hershey's syrup.

What I still have on my list to bring over with me? Pecans, Grape Jelly, Butterscotch sauce (actually Butterscotch anything since they don't have that over here at all!), Mint Milanos from Pepperidge farm, A1 Steak sauce, Poultry seasoning, Lemon pepper seasoning salt, Goulden's mustard, Reeses pieces (we can now get cups, but not pieces!). Oh! If I sat here long enough I could write a book! LOL! Most of the time I've learned to make do.

We now have Old Elpaso and other Mexican food, so that is easier. I can also get Bagels in the grocery store (though they aren't nearly as good!) Krispy Kreme's has taken care of my Dunkin Donuts cravings too! Hehehe!

For one things, some foods I used to crave are too processed for our diets now, and for another some are just too hard to carry back! But I keep two whole cupboards for our American foods store. Then I ration them out to last till the next planned trip. Since we are in our last six months before a trip home, we are using alot of our stuff up now. The doors are flung open and we are enjoying the treats since we need to make space to put the new stores we will bring back!

wow! I think I may have won the world record for the longest comment left on someone's blog! I'm also now craving, so I'll go and dive into my cupboard and get myself a fix of American tastes! LOL! See ya! Oh and pop over to my blog if you get a chance! You've been tagged!

You are such a great sister Marsha. Sometimes I forget who is the older one (has nothing to do with you looking older, blah blah blah) because you are the nurturing one that takes care of everybody. I go to YOU for advice, comfort and I just plain look up to you. Thanks for making my birthday so special.... EVERY year. :D

I love you Marshy! Oh, and I do agree, I deserved every beating! :P

Your neice and baby sure do look alike! Funny how that happens, huh? My oldest daughter looks just like my sister-inlaw. Like, twins. Which is good, 'cause she's not only cute, but a sweet lady, so it's okay with me.

Didn't your mom have any homely kids?

Ahhhh!

Great pictures! And I remember being pregnant with my sister, and you are absolutely right! Wesley & Chloe are like twins from different mothers. Even after almost 20 years. I also highly recommend it! :)

How have you been?? I am going to try to catch up on your blog. Its been a while, Actually I had lost you! ( we got a new computer since the old one died, and being a computer moron, I didn't know how to get anything back) lol

Well, if you want stop by "my place"!! And yes, we are still in Jersey. :::::sigh:::::
