NOTEBOOKING
Posted in Notebooking
This is my first year to try notebooking and I love it!!! Both of my kids are able to do it to different degrees. My ds(4) has his own preschool skills notebook. We put all of his little worksheerts in it. He also has his own "writing journal". He is slightly behind in his writing, but is catching up quickly. Every so often, he adds an entry to his "writing journal". Not only does this show me his progress, but it gets him use to doing it at a very early age. Some days he may try a letter, on other days he may draw a picture or shapes. If he tells me something about his picture, I write his statement beside the picture and I always make sure I date the page. For this particular journal, I use a composition notebook and decorated with some special stickers. For his preschool skills notebook, I used a three- ring binder with page protectors. My ds(10) has several notebooks. Right now we are only working on his Character Bootcamp notebook. In this notebook he includes: writing assignments, spelling assignments and various worksheets. In his Character Training we have covered spelling, writing, Bible, Copy Work, history, reading comprehension and various other skills. I three- hole punch them and put them in a special binder. We have several notebooks for his regular school work. So far we have: World history, American history, Bible, spelling, penmanship, geography, science, nature, poetry, writing, Spanish, Latin, art, music and timeline. In the subjects that I want to keep looking nice for years to come like history, art, and poetry I use sheet protectors. In subjects that are more worksheet based such as spelling or Spanish, I just three- hole punch them and stick them in.
I have found several great companies that I love for notebooking. www.notebookingpages.com Hold That Thought History Scribe I think these places are a great place to start.

I love this idea and will try to read more on the other sites you listed so that I can see if this is something we can do too! Sounds like a lot of fun and a good way of preserving some great memories our their work.
