Ireland Unit Study
May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
-Irish Blessing
Here is a unit I made up for my children and I want to share with you. Please use extreme caution on the sites. Please review them before you allow your children to view them. I only skimmed the surface (did not follow all the links) and I know some of them had a lot of mystically stuff of them. Many of the ancient beliefs from Ireland are very paganistic and involve mystical creatures. With this in mind, some of the sites are better viewed by the parent for background information only.
The Ireland Unit can be used with the St. Patrick's Day Unit Study for more detailed study. Here are some additional resources that you may want to consider but are not necessary. There is a Unit Study on Ireland, Irish Proverbs Copy Work, Ancient Rome and European Cultures notebooking pages that include some for the Celts and Stonehenge, Study a Country lapbook, Study an Animal lapbook and Country Study Lapbook all for purchase. The last three can be used for multiple studies and the notebooking pages can be used also for study of Ancient Rome.

Copywork is where you have your child copy a sentence or phrase in their best handwriting. A lot of times this it a quote, Bible verse, poem, a part of literature, or other work of significance. Copywork helps not only handwriting skills, but also grammar and spelling.
