Another Prayer Request
I really hate to ask this, since I just asked for prayer for something else, but my little one (age 4 1/2) could use some prayer. It is probably nothing, but we have already go through so much with him, we are nervous. Last year, Christmas 2005, he had surgery to lengthen the muscle in neck so he could turn his head better and hold it upright. He then had to be in a brace that went from his head down to his waistline for 7 1/2 months. He did very well with all of this and had full movement and was holding his head upright when it was all done. He did so well that they went ahead an released him from physical theraphy earlier than they had planned. Well, we were noticing that he is not turning his head quite as well as he was. I have restarted his exercises, but if he gets worse or does not improve quickly we will have to call his orthopaedic surgeon. I really don't want to go through PT with him again. He had PT off and on for almost 3 years and we were hoping and praying that it was behind us.

The great thing about prayer is that there's always enough to go around. I am sorry you are going through so many trials right now. Take care of yourself and leave these problems in God's hands. I will keep your family in my prayers and in my heart.
You know what helps me when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Reading or watching something funny. There is nothing like laughter to lift the spirit and give strength for life's hurdles. That's why I always sign with:
Peace and Laughter,
Cristina

Thanks for stopping by my blog. To answer your question, my co-leader at co-op just googled the individual's name. It was quite a wake up call for me. I'm quite complacent, since the kids are usually with me! The family who referred him had no idea of his past, and confirmed that the photo was in fact him.

As my baby lies asleep in my arms, I'm again thankful for my children's good health as I read your prayer request.
Adonai already knows your needs, and tonight as I say my bedtime prayers, as I approach the Holy One, I will remember you to Him.

Good for you for restarting his exercises on your own. There's probably a lot of physical therapy you can do at home without having to disrupt your schedule too much with all the driving- I know that can be a pain.
But if it comes down to it- we'll do what it takes for our babies, right?!
Hoping your little one improves, praying for healing,
ali

Thankfully, God doesn't get tired of our prayers! I'll add your son to my list. :-) Thanks for letting me know you have a tag box now too. I've found that with the Tag World ones you almost have to hit the refresh instead of the go button. But there are no bad ads like with cbox!

Thanks for leaving me a comment! I love to see that someone has stopped by and took a little extra time to leave a note!!! :-)
I'm saddened to hear of your 4-1/2 year old's struggles. We have a 4-1/2 year old daughter and are soooo thankful for her health. (She had a super-quick surgery a couple of years ago because she put a coffee bean in her nose. - ha!)
Lord, I pray that the exercises that she does with her son would help and that he wouldn't have to go thru more PT. Thank you for being our Healer! In Jesus' name. Amen.

I wanted SO much to go to the Cincy convention, but decided I'd be crazy to take a nursing 3-month-old! I'm glad you had a great time!
I've prayed for both of your prayer requests.

I'm so glad you did ask "another" prayer request! I'm seeing this a couple of days later...hoping you have a report for us soon. I know how hard it can be to have to go to PT. And $$$! I've prayed that the Lord would be glorified in this situation and with its outcome.

just want to report... Mr Roto-Rooter is here now. :) It is traditional for us to have an Easter crisis... one year my oven died, and the next the fridge quit working... I hope this thing with the plumbing is it, only a week early. Looks like you go for a Christmas crisis. Yuck.
I will be praying that the exercises work quickly. Please keep us posted.

When our daughter (who is now almost 13) was six months old she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. we were shocked! She appeared normal but then there were some strange things we noticed: ie: She did not crawl (she did a "commando" crawl only on the left side of her body), she would scream when we would dress her and pull her right arm up or down (now we realize it was because of muscle spasms and tightness). She continues to this day to baffle the doctors. At six months old, one year old and even two years old no one could predict any outcome. They told us maybe she would have seizures one day (we do think she may be having absent seizures), they said she may never talk (she not only talks but speaks eloquently). She walked at two - but never crawled When we had to do PT w/ her for years they only wanted her to crawl (she HATED it!). Finally, now at 13 she really does not want to return to PT so we have her doing her PT at home. She has had three or four (I have now lost count) heel chord lengthenings and I am sure she will need one more and we are trying to wait until she has obtained her height so it will not have to be redone again. There is nothing they can do for the right hand - but would you believe most people (unless you are a teacher or some other health professional) cannot even tell she has CP. God has used her in a mighty way and will continue to do so throughout her life. She has had to face some pretty daunting things - such as things that she will not likely do: Like drive - we are not sure if she will ever drive - if she has seizures, then no. Because of her right-sided hemiplegia probably not. She is slower in the chores, but her heart is huge to her other siblings! She cannot climb trees, rollerskate or ride a bike. But, sHe loves babies and looks forward to being a mother and wife and we do not doubt for a minute Melissa will marry one day. She loves to cook, knit, sew etc. If you check out my blog you will see a picture of her at 8 - and I will be posting more of her specifically from the father daughter retreat with Vision Forum probably Monday. I only write these things to you as I have to admit to you I wept when we heard Melissa's diagnosis But now my mourning has turned to joy when I see the great things He has in store for our beautiful daughter and what He has already done. When they finally did an MRI of her brain at 4 years old - the docs were in shock - and they still are. Her brain damage is very extensive but miraculously the nerves healed themselves. I am sure your little one will do fine and we, indeed will pray for him. I am sure God has much in store for his life! Kathy P (please feel free to email me at chatkat@bellsouth.net)

Mar. 31, 2007 - Praying!

I will be praying for your little one. It is so hard when it's our child who is sick or hurting. I'd rather take it myself! My little girl was very ill for 3 years & we thought we were going to lose her, so I know how difficult this must be for you even though I can't say that I understand exactly what you are going through or feeling. My heart aches for your little one! That's a lot of PT for such a young age!
Know you are in my thoughts & prayers. Remember, God loves your little one even more than you -- hard for us moms to believe, but true.
(Psalms 138:3) In the day when I cried Thou answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul.
Praying God will strengthen your soul today!
...and thanks for stopping by my blog & posting comments! I enjoy reading them.

I'll make sure I pray, and don't worry about asking the saints to lift up you and your family. Sometimes the encouragement and uplifting from others can be our 'angels unaware'. I'll certainly keep your family in my prayers.

Lord, please heal this little child. We ask for your mercy upon this sweet one, and for your tender care for his mother as well. Give his parents direction in caring for him, and bless this family with complete health and well being.
In Jesus' name
Blessings,
Keri

HUGS! Definitely praying. Reading about your little guy brought back memories of when my Gabe (5 now) had to have 2 eye surgeries. It was disappointing to see his eye start turning in again after having been through his first surgery and then have to have a second. He was only 3 then.
Praying that the exercises you started doing will do the trick!
Love, Alyssa

My prayers are with you all!!
Real quick I wanted to let you know too that I am listing your blog as a resource for the unit studies on a new homeschooling site. I can share the link with you once it is up and running. I was asked to be the editor there, and thought of you! So I am including you on the list for resources as you have so much great stuff to share.
