Your husband's doing the right thing. I'm probably not being as careful as I should be. We've been involved in some high profile "politically-incorrect" activities, so had to go unlisted with our phone # and we use a P. O. Box in another town, so I feel somewhat safe using our names as I don't think we can be found. Maybe I'm not as up to date on the dangers as I should be, though. Am I?

Your hubby sounds like mine. My husband was concerned about me starting a public blog because of security reasons. I assured him that I wouldn't reveal any personal info. I crop our children out of any pictures I upload.
I read your entry about your pregnancies. I had C-sections (one emergency and one scheduled) with both of our children. I would love to have a third child, but as of now my husband says we're finished. He doesn't want me to undergo anymore surgeries (a sure medical "necessity" after 2 C-sections).

I said it on your chat box, but I know I still like comments, so I'll leave you one to. We aren't real comfortable with using all our names either. Mine is JoAnn, and maybe someday I'll use the rest of my families. But right now it's dh (darling husband), dd (darling daughter) and ds (darling son). :)

Hi Lynn,
Nice to meet you! I actually just found your blog the other day. I read about your son's OCD/ADHD, and he reminded me so much of my son, especially when you said how most people wouldn't even know because he's outgoing and holds it together until he gets home.
I'd love some book recommendations, if you wouldn't mind. We don't have a diagnosis yet, although a developmental ped who knows him said that she thought it might be OCD/ADHD, and maybe a general anxiety disorder.

Dear Lynn,

My husband's name is the only one I don't give out. We use it on all the bills and cards. No one can find my name if they try--I have to give directions on where they can find it every time I go to vote--and if I want to eventually publish my 'toons, I figure I need to use my name so that everyone can find them!
BTW, thanks for the commercial above, as well as the nomination! It's an honor just to be nominated. My cheeks are burning from the accolades! :o)

I would never put our last name and exactlly where we live. My concern more with safety is if people were conversating with my children over the net gaining there trust, so none of them do that or are interested in doing so. I maybe gullible but I think what is anyone going to do with a first name, plus no one from my country visits my blog, lol. It's a personal decision and I certaninly respect whatever the person is comfortable with.
