My 200th Post!

Wow! This is my 200th post! So I guess I need to make it special. Hmmm..... Well, I'm going to start with a tag. Mary (Canada Girl) tagged me a few days ago with the famous 8 random things tag, but she added a twist. She wants 8 random things about my homeschool, so here goes...
1. This will be our 6th year of homeschooling.
2. My oldest went to public kindergarten.
3. Our homeschool is a little of this and a little of that. I don't think I have ever used just one book to teach any subject and I don't think I have ever used all of any book.
4. Our homeschool is called Christian Homeschool Academy.
5. I loosely use Charlotte Mason, Classical and Unit Study methods.
6. I think notebooking has been our greatest discovery. I think this has made the biggest impact in our homeschool.
7. I'm horrible about following lesson plans. I rarely buy curriculum that has a lot of wordy lesson plans. I like to be able to pick something up and use it.
8. I rarely do read alouds once my child knows how to read. I hate to read out loud. My tongue gets tired real quick, so once my kid can read well, I usually let them do the reading unless they are needing help with something. Since my oldest is a visual learner and not very auditory, it has worked out well.

A quick update....

I have had questions about my health and how my children are, so I guess I should give an update... I have not been feeling too well. The doctor put me on some meds that has really affected my sleep and made me feel really drowsy. I feel like I'm staring off into space a lot. I think it's just taking time for my body to get use to them, because I'm doing a little better. The first week though, I really did not feel like blogging much and when Hubby got home from work, I would go lay down and take a nap! I guess we will see how it goes. Little One is still having bowel problems. Things just don't seem right. We still have about a week and half until he goes back to the doctor, and I'm kinda dreading it. Prince Caspian is doing slightly better. I'm at least getting hopeful at this point. We still have good days and bad days, but the bad days aren't quite as bad.

Your 200th post, how cool. Sorry everyone's still dealing with things, that has to be hard. You are in my prayers. I'm going to do that quiz, it looks fun. :)
