Prince Caspian fell and broke his tooth

Update-----
Thank you for the prayers! They mean so much to me.
Just got home a bit ago (it's 10:50 pm). Today has been a really rough day! Unfortunately, the root was exposed so they have to do a root canal 1st thing Monday morning. I'm really dreading this. I've never had one done, and it doesn't sound pleasant. I'm going to really hate seeing my son go through this. Today, they were able to put a sealant on the tooth, but that was about it. It's broke off pretty bad. Basically, it broke off diagonally up his whole tooth (very front one). After the root canal, they are going to gradually build the tooth up, but they won't be able to cap the tooth until he is about 16. They said his mouth had to mature a lot more before they could do that. I guess he was really lucky though, that is all that happened. He was playing basketball at the YMCA with another boy who is larger than he is and the kid fell on top of his face. PC's nose, cheeks and mouth are all swollen, but at least he didn't get a head injury or broken nose or anything. PTL!
I had a frustrating moment as I was leaving, the garage door would not go down. I was spitting mad at it. I called my husband and he was suggesting things that I had thought of and then he was like your going to have to do it manually. I'm, like, ... right..., there is no way I can get it down manually (it's one of the big double door ones.). Luckily, it finally started coming down bit by bit. I would push the button, it would go down about 18 inches, then I would push it again and it would go a little more. I'm just thinking of all days for something like that to happen!!! All I cared about at that point was getting to PC and here I was standing there, having to mess with the stupid garage door!!!!!
I'm going to have to rest the next couple days. I way over did it today but it couldn't be helped. After all the other stuff that happened, I also had my niece's birthday this evening. I had hoped to gradually get back into activity, but I kinda got thrust into it today. I have to make sure I'm up to being at the dentist Monday morning, so I guess it means extra naps this weekend to recuperate.
If you think about it could you please pray for PC this weekend that he isn't too sore and that the root canal goes ok on Monday? Thanks.
Just a quick note while I'm waiting. I just got a call from my mom saying that PC fell and broke his front tooth (permanent tooth) off. They are trying to get him into their dentist down there (south of town) but if they can't they are going to bring him up to our dentist. I'm going to take off to be with him as soon as I know where he's going to be. Mom said the root seems to be ok, but PC is in quite a bit of pain. These are the frustrating times that are really hard to deal with, with him not living here right now. I want to be with him NOW, but I can't really go until I know where he will be.

Oh Lynn, I'm so sorry. I pray that everything turns out well. I read another post where the permenant front teeth were broken and the dentist did a great job, and they look fine. I pray that he not only feels better soon, and whatever needs to be done to repair this will go smoothly. I also pray comfort and peace on all of you.

So sorry to hear this happened to PC. My oldest son had that happen to him when he was about 13. It's hard, praying for you. On a happier note, I have something for you. Check out my blog.
Blessings!

I am so sorry that PG has a broken front tooth. PTL that nothing else happened to him. I too have had frustration with our old double garage door that is wooden. I am praying that your energy is restored through little naps and rest. Please let us know about the dentist on Monday.
Love, Mama Karen

*groans!* I am so sorry, Lynn. This is not what anyone wishes for, but I too am glad it was not worse. I will pray.

I'm so sorry that he has to go through all of that. But like you said, its good he didn't have any other injuries. I pray that he does well this weekend, and that things go well on Monday. :)

Feb. 10, 2008 - I'm sorry!

I read this, and it "struck a nerve" with me. (Sorry.) I was quite the tomboy when I was younger, and I just wouldn't get out of the way of the boy sliding into home plate in gym class. Yep, I killed my front tooth.
I know the throbbing nerve pain. I sure hope they give him something for that. (I didn't get any drugs at all, and it just hurt all the time.) The root canal was only a little uncomfortable. Mainly, I was more worried about what it would look like in the end. They managed to keep what was left of my tooth for a few years, but it eventually cracked and required a post and crown.
All will be well. I'm sure your dentist will do a great job, and this will be a distant memory eventually.
I'll pray for your peace and rest today. Please know that the root canal really is a blessing. The whole thing is so wonderful to preserve what's left.
