Tightwad Tuesday

I mentioned in my last post how we were going out to eat to my favorite restaurant. Well, I love eating out, but I was reminded once again why we don’t do it very often. It cost just too much money!!! When I was pregnant we used to go to this restaurant so often they actually knew us. They even brought my cheese nachos, which I order every time I go, occasionally without me having to actually order them. I would say on average, we would go once a week, sometimes more. Well, at about $25.00 a meal, needless to say that added up fast!!!! I eventually learned how to make the cheese nachos (it is a white cheese dip) very similar to theirs. We stopped going so much. If fact, I think this was the 1st time in about a year that we were there. We have saved so much money now that I can satisfy that taste without the huge cost. It’s still not the most frugal meal, but it sure beats $25.00 a pop. Well, the Net is full of copycat recipes and so I compiled a list of some of the sites that have these recipes. So if you have a craving for something like Outback’s Bloomin Onion or Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits and you don’t want to spend the high prices to eat out, you can search for the recipes here. Please note, I have not tried these yet, so please don’t blame me if they don’t turn out! lol!

I use several of the copy cat recipes all of the time!
Red Lobster biscuts!! Can't live without them! LOL...
When I was a teenager I worked at Taco Bell for a very short time... back then they had Cinnamon Crispas, I think they were called... I make them all of the time for snacks or with tacos... basically cut tortillas into 8 wedges, deep fry and toss in cinnamon sugar!! YUMMY

Just stopping by to say hello and to remind everyone that tomorrow is Weblink Wednesday. No special links needed - just whatever educational link that you find helpful. I'm going back to posting Weblink Wednesday every week. You know, what you wrote today would serve just as well... good links!
Have a great rest-of-the-day.
