It's Stories Like This That Makes Homeschooling So Worthwhile!!!
If I'm ever having a "bad" homeschool day, I need to reread this news story to make me remember why this is such a better choice! In the story, a mother was wondering why her 4- year old, pre-k, daughter was in trouble all the time at school and she didn't see the behavior at home. So she slipped a digital recorder into the child's bag and sent her to school. The recorder caught the teacher yelling at the children, calling them stupid several times and verbally abusing them. The teacher's punishment? She's been reassigned. I guess they want to make sure more kids get abused. This is also the same teacher that slapped a student in December. For that she was suspended for a day w/o paid.

Thanks for the prayers. James is doing better today. A few more days and hopefully he can come home.
I heard about this teacher! Everyday there seems to be some sort of issues in the schools. I just don't understand why people continue in fields of employment, they really shouldn't be in. I am so glad none of my kids are still in public school!
I hope you didn't get too much snow. Our fields were completely white at 8am this morning and the cars had a thin layer of snow & ice!! Somehow, I'm having trouble with global warming when I see snow in Deland, Florida!

Oh dear! This kind of thing just makes your heart SINK! How very sad and discouraging.
I was a sign language interpreter in the schools. That's the equivalent to being a fly on the wall in the room that no one notices after a while. Every once in a while I was struck by how "nicely" a child could be put down or discouraged. :'(

Anyday homeschooling is better...did you hear the stuff on the ruling in CA, focus on the family is interviewing Farris today about it. I may blog on it later.
