Nov. 18, 2006 - You're never too old to learn

I am not ashamed to admit it~ I checked out a book called " Computer Dictionary for Children...and their parents"  After having to depend constantly on my 12  yos and my husband to do anything on the computer besides send e-mails, I have decided to catch up with technology and learn how to use all of the electronic gadgets that surround me everyday.

I will learn to:  *make changes and update my blog, by Myself!

(this includes messing with pictures - ack!)

*learn how to use all those different settings on my cell phone

(I'm not going to actually read the manual, but I figure if I

play with it enough I'll figure it out)

                      *  reset the clock in the car ( WHY are there no directions?)

                      *  play at least one computer game

I just might even buy an i-pod this Christmas - and I'll use it!!!

     Nine Wierd Things About Me

(Things that would not come up in a conversation)

1.  I can not wear house slippers during the day - I must have shoes on to feel like I'm ready.

2.  The way certain words sound really bugs me, ie: morsel, parcel, noodle

3.  I was Homecoming Queen my senior year of high school.  (now my husband says I'm the queen of my home - isn't he sweet   )

4.  When I am pregnant, I crave broccoli and marinated artichoke hearts.

5.  When I'm teaching I have to have a pencil in my hand, even if I'm not using it.

6.  Every room in my house has a junk drawer.

7.  I can not read one book at a time.  I like to have about three going at once, a 'mom' book, a political book, and a theological book.

8.  As much as I love flowers, I can not keep them alive.  My yard is the Botanical Garden of Death.

9.  Whenever I am having company over I always end up cleaning something completely ridiculous, like under my bed or the top of the closet- As if anyone is going to see it?

Ok, now you all know how wierd I am.  I tag  :  wadeboysmom

Showing our kids that you should never stop learning is a valuable lesson. I find it harder to learn now that I'm in my early 40's with 3 kids but I try. Loved your Weird List! I can relate to #1, #2, #7 and #8! I not only have several books going but I seldom want to finish them - I usually hate the way books end so I'd rather stop while the book is still good. Does that make sense? Now I feel weird! You must blog very late at night since it is late here in the northwest. Take care and have fun with your page - I like the pink!

Botanical Garden of Death! That is too funny!

I'm usually reading more than one book at the same time too. I like picking up different ones for whichever mood I'm in at the time. :)

Thanks for playing along! I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
