Jun. 7, 2008 - Plugging away

My dh just took the whole van load to flag football practice and then off to play for a few hours so that I can finishing hammering through curriculum.  So , coffee - check ,  stack of catalogs - check , stack of books, textbook and otherwise - check   TOTALLY quiet house - CHECK!

I hope that I can concentrate with all this time to myself.  (If you can relate to Homeschool-induced ADD you should read The Imperfect Homeschoolers little piece on it - too funny.  http://www.cardamompublishers.com/living-with-homeschool-induced-add.htm    Sorry I can't put it neatly in, still working on my HTML skills :)

I don't know where the time has gone - and I apologize for not stopping by sooner! I love visiting your blog and it took me awhile to catch up (ketchup!) on all you've been doing.

So - it's a he-flake! It's fun to plan for the correct gender. Sounds like you've gotten a lot of work done on the house. I hope you get your "list" checked off before your due date (no pressure!)

I have no thoughts on curriculum as we just finished our last day yesterday. We'll pick up again in September so I have time before I need to think about next year. But I do enjoy going through the catalogs and marking pages for the future.

We didn't attend our homeschool curriculum fair this year, due to the price to attend, the price of gas (it's 2 hours away) and the fact that bringing children was highly discouraged. That's when it's nice to have the Internet to "look" a little better at something you are considering buying. But I do miss interacting with the sellers - we've met a lot of nice people over the years. I'm glad you enjoyed your conference.

I hope you are feeling well and healthy. Have been praying for you and will continue to do so.

Take care,
Kate
