At Home With Jesus!

Home from the hospital
It has been a LONG day...(and it's only 1/2 over!)
Katie and I went to the hospital early this morning for her MRI.
It was not the greatest experience. Our anesthesiologist did not have a very good pediatric bedside manner. He seemed very impatient. They gave Katie a drink of pink medicine that was supposed to make her sleepy....BUT, it didn't work! I had hoped they would give her a few breaths of 'sleepy gas' ( like they did for Julie before her tonsillectomy last Fall, ) but instead the impatient doctor reached for a very large needle, and gave poor Katie a shot of Versed. (...after both myself and the nurses had 'promised' her.....
"Don't worry - you won't have any 'pokies' while you are awake.")
The shot took effect immediately, though, and they were able to start her IV and do the MRI right away after that.
Then, what made me REALLY upset was after the MRI Katie was taken to a recovery room, and I was NOT allowed to be with her! The nurse told me it was against hospital policy because it was a large room with several other patients in it, and it would violate the other patients' privacy if I was in there!!!
Katie woke up scared and alone, and I was MAD! I could see if she had had surgery and had needed some immediate medical care, but in this situation she needed her mother more!
In the past when we have had procedures done at this facility we have always had to fill out a patient satisfaction survey..... I HOPE I get one this time!!!!
Katie is home now and resting comfortably snuggled up with her BEST friend!

She's still very groggy ( she can't walk and her speech is slurred) so we'll have a nice relaxing day, and I'm sure we'll end up watching Cinderella about 20 times....
On a positive note however, the neurologist called with the results from her EEG and everything was NORMAL! Praise God!
Thank you all for your continued prayers!
