At Home With Jesus!

Ka - POW!!!!!!

Want to know what THE loudest noise I've ever heard in my whole entire life was?

Our beautiful tree getting hit by lightening last night!

We were awakened from a sound sleep in the middle of the night last night by  rain blowing sideways through our window, and the trees whipping around in the wind outside.
I got out of bed to close all of the windows, and just when we thought the worst part of the storm was over

Flash - BAM!

It sounded like an explosion out in our yard!
And here is the aftermath....

(This was the 'entry point'  - It's a little singed.)

It peeled the bark off of the tree like a banana!

But the worst part is...under the bark...the trunk appears to be split in two.
(It's hard to se here, but there is a large crack from where it hit all the way to the ground.)

We are having a 'tree guy' come over to see if he can save it.
I sure hope so.  It's my favorite tree in our yard!

Will you have to cut it down now?

I'm sorry we weren't able to meet while we were out that way. Our schedule was too full to do any more, and we barely went into Wisconsin at all. Do you have any plans to come out west again?

Yikes! I bet that was very scary! I hope there is a way to save your precious tree. Those big old beautiful trees are so hard to come by.

How fascinating! We don't get much lightening here and when we have I've never seen anything that it has touched. I sure hope you can save your tree, it is really beautiful :)
Hope you are enjoying a blessed Sunday,

Well, praise the Lord it didn't crack and crash into anything :)
Hopefully you won't lose your beautiful tree. I don't know what the chances are of that, but, hopefully.

I have always loved thunderstorms. I see the power and magnificance of the Creator. But they can be destructive too. Oh, I do hope the beautiful tree can be saved!

Oh, I hope he can save it. That would be too bad if it was gone.
