Friday ~ Surprise ~ Movies ~ Finishing school ~ Books

Hey!

On Friday we went to Misty's house, and we all had a very good time spending the night there.  :-)  We swam in the pool, which was awesome! I wish we had a pool. Mummy picked us up on Saturday afternoon, and Thomas' friend Charles came home with us. We stopped at the grocery store and got ice cream and Reese's cups to make milkshakes. I had some chopped up Reese's in mine; it was scrumptious! The people *cough* without taste *cough* had plain chocolate.  :-D

Then on Sunday, we all went to town. Mummy and Daddy surprised us by dropping me, Thomas, and Daddy off at the theatre so we could see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! (Mummy took the girls to a treat of their own, and then they went grocery shopping.) It was a really good movie! Some parts of it were a little weird.... but it was awesome anyway. It was set in the 50s, so the clothes and hairstyles were really cool.  :-)  I loved Mutt.  LOL  We saw a preview for Eagle Eye which looks so cool! Daddy, Thomas, and I want to see that too.  :-)  There was an ad for the movies that the theatre is showing next. They were Wall-E, and Get Smart. Both of which I want to see! But I think we'll be waiting until they come out on DVD.

One of my friends and her parents were there too. Mummy was late picking us up, so we stood outside talking to them, which was nice. So it was really okay that she was late.  :-)

Since I'm talking about movies, I have to share my joy about another movie.  LOL  Netflix sent us Jumper today! So now I'm all happy about that. I read a few reviews, and some people hated it , (Especially the "professional critics"), and some people loved it. But I generally disagree with most of the critic's reviews, so I don't really care what they thought.  :-)

We're aiming for finishing school the Friday after next. We don't get much of a break, because we're starting again on the first Monday of August. But next year, we'll be done at the end of April, so we'll have most of spring and some of summer for our break. It's pointless to have a summer break, really, because it's so hot outside. In springtime, every one of us wants to be outside, so it makes sense to have our break then.

I'm re-reading Anne of Green Gables. I'd forgotten how much I love L. M. Montgomery's books. Oh, and speaking of books, I found out that's there's a prequel to The City of Ember! It's called The Prophet of Yonwood. I got both from the library. Since I own The People of Sparks, I'm going to read all three in order. The City of Ember is such an awesome book. If you haven't read it, you should. And don't say that the cover looks weird. Please.  LOL

Okay, I need to go do a workout and then a few more things.

Hugs,

Becca

Doesn't Eagle Eye look so good? And Get Smart looks funny. I want to see both those movies as soon as they come out. Did you like Indianna Jones 4? I loved it.

Jumper comes out on DVD on July 2nd next month. I cannot wait for that.

You've read Snake Head???

okay, wait a minute. You could go see Indy but not Caspian? FOR SHAME!!! lol, I'm just kidding...

Yes, I don't like seafood...and I do live near the ocean! Actually, I live in the crab capital of the world, so I'm highly unusual and unnatural in not liking seafood. My city is ashamed of me!

I need to read City of Ember. I have heard so much about it lately, especially with the movie coming out soon. I don't know anything about it, but I know a lot of people reading it.

that would be really fun, but we go camping a lot in the summer and stuff and that's when all my friends are out of school. :( also, if we had to start school when it was scorching hot, we would concentrate even LESS than we do now! lol
but it is a smart idea.

Mmmm... Reeses in milk shakes! Yum!

Anne of Green Gables is so good! I think I have the sequels on my bookshelf but I still haven't got around to reading it!

I read the City of Ember a year ago or so, it was pretty good! I haven't got around to the sequels though (did you guess?)... my book pile is quite large. The cover is actually sort of cool! =)

Hi Becca! I love your idea of putting a candy bar in a milkshake. That's so creative. :-)

The Anne of Green Gables series is one of my favorites. I seriously need to request those books from the library, because I keep saying I want to re-read them, but haven't yet. Where does the time go??

Have a great weekend!

Hello,

Sounds like you've been busy! My sister and mom and I are re-watching the Anne of Green Gables movies! Oh, I love them! So sweet and innocent. I have read the People of Sparks and the City of Ember and loved them, but we got the third book and started reading it and decided not too. There was some weird stuff that we did not agree with about God in it. I am looking forward for the fourth book to come out though in fall. It is supposed to go back to the story about Lina and Doon.

I also wanted to let you know that I posted!

In Christ,
Christine

I absolutely love the first two books in the Ember series...the third one was iffy though.

Congrats on finishing school! I cannot wait to get finished with mine.

Hope all is well. I posted a tag and some slideshows, so come on over some time.

Luv,
Arya
