Hello again!

Back into the stream of schoolwork and piano lessons and business. *sigh* Christmas break seemed so short!

I wish that I had something interesting to tell you about, but to be honest with you, I really don't. It's boring around here... very.

SO SORRY!!

ACK, I am sooo sorry people... I have been really busy with Christmas and New Year and just everything else... I just haven't been able to respond to comments or write new entries or anything really...!! sorry

Well, my Christmas was excellent, and interesting at the same time... let me explain

My grandma said she would be driving here for Christmas, and she didn't even make it out of the house until about noon on Christmas eve, so first we thought she would be here, then that she wouldn't, and ya. It was weird. She didn't actually make it for Christmas () but she's here now!

Christmas day was so much fun! Me and my 2 sisses got up at 3:40 am (I KNOW we're crazy don't even bother telling me....) Yeah so we opened up our stockings first when our parents FINALLY got up at about 6:30 am or so, then we kind of sporadically opened presents over the next 3 hours.

My best presents were:

• The book Do Hard Things!!!! YAY!!! (I was really happy I got this one, can you tell???)
• The book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
• The movie Newsies
• A Nerf football
• Quilted fabric
• A sewing machine.....???!?!?!?!

Yes. As you can tell, I was a little skeptical of the sewing machine at FIRST because I have never sewed... like, ever.... but it's turning out pretty nice. I got quilted fabric to make a purse with, because I reeeally want a Vera Bradley designer purse, but they are waaay too expensive, so my mom suggested that I make one myself, and I was totally pessimistic about it (typical of me) and decided that I would probably screw it up. Well, I've been working on this purse for the past few days, and so far I haven't messed too much up... a few little things here and there that can be overlooked.... so I'm pretty happy about that!!  

Yup. Well.... I guess that's pretty much everything thats been happening to me lately.... and soooo sorry for the wait for the post!!

P.S. I forgot to say that my sister also got PRINCE CASPIAN for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! We already watched it!!!!!!! It was weird because I almost cried this time..... and I wasn't even CLOSE to crying the first time I saw it. But I am soooo happy we got it!!!

Newsies

Hey!

Well, I hope ya'll like my improved blog template. It's OK. I just needed a change I think... the other one was sort of boring.

BUT!

To to the point of the entry.

Last night I went to my friend E-------'s house for a sleepover, and we had a bunch of fun. We went to a play and sang Christmas carols and talked about how I NEVER knew Christian Bale was ENGLISH!!!!!! He had me TOTALLY fooled, I thought he was completely American. It was weird....

Anyway, we got to the SUBJECT of Christian Bale because we watched the movie Newsies!!! It was sooooooooooooooooo good. My favorite character was Spot. Me and my friend's mom's favorite line is when he says, "Never fear! Brooklyn is here!" I LOOOOOVE their accent..... it's so cool. lol maybe I'm just weird. I mean, the first thing I did was go to photobucket.com and pick out a bunch of Newsies icons to out on my sidebar.... lol! I liked it that much!

But yeah!!! It was an awesome movie. Not like, my favorite or anything, but it was definitely very good. And Christian Bale.... oh yeah baby..... any movie with him in it rocks....... =D He plays Batman and Laurie in Little Women too. I want to see Batman. I saw part of Batman Begins, but not the whole thing. I actually enjoyed it, it wasn't really that scary I don't think.

But I'm not so sure about the Dark Knight. I have heard SOOO many mixed reviews that I have NO idea what to think. Some people tell me it was the BEST movie ever, then others tell me it was WAAAY too dark and scary, then others tell me it was boring, then others tell me it just wasn't good...... AGH!! Tell me what YOU think of it....

PARTAY.... great.

AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have 5 little 5 and 6 year old boys running around the house at my little brother's "Transformers" party with 4 pairs of handcuffs, one cap-gun, a sword, a shield and a light saber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT GOOD.

I have already been "shot" about 5 times, and I have been tackled once and counting......

Yeah.

It's soooooo funny though, because I look at all of them and I think: "Wow they're exactly like MY brother!!!" He just turned 5, and he is like, SOOOOOOOOO energetic and loud and just.... BLAAAAH SPASTIC EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

OK, I just burst out laughing because someone shot the (loud) cap gun upstairs and all the boys started laughing hysterically....... !!!! It's soooo funny.

Yeah, well, that's my life as the sister to a spastic brother....... and 2 even more spastic sisters. Gotta love em'. But at the same time ya just wanna rip your hair out by the roots, ya know?????????

*sigh* back to trying to avoid getting run over by little boys running in circles around our house as fast as they can!!!

Christmas Program

Hello all,

I don't have much time to tell you all about what I've been doing, but  I think I could give you a little overview... for the last 3 days I have been at my church every night preparing for our Christmas program. Our church's Christmas program is huuuuge.... last night was the first actual performance, and there are 3 more nights in a row... =P So I've been staying way super later than I should be!!! I have been so busy I even had to ask one of my teachers in co-op to let me skip an assignment.... =O Yeah... soooo..... ANYWHO.

The concert went well last night, although I figured out that my high-heeled shoes are slippery inside when you wear tights, so I was slipping and sliding all around in them when i was walking down the aisles and stuff... I eventually changed into my sneakers, which were thankfully also black, so no one could tell... =) And we sort of messed up when we were supposed to light the congregation's candles... but no one could tell and stuff, so whatever. we'll do better tonight.

OH. Just one tip if you ever for some weird reason have to wear one of our choir's dresses.... WEAR PANTS UNDERNEATH.... they are life-savers if you don't really like dresses, like moi....

Anyway. We have to go to co-op today, and I am so not excited, because in history we have a Quizmeet (whatever that is......) and I literally have not studied AT ALL............. whoever gets me on their team is going to loooose big-time..... lol

Thanksgiving News

Hilo!

How was everyone's Thanksgiving??? Ours was good, but definitely quiet and low-key. It was good to spend time with my family. =)

Here is what our dinner consisted:

• Turkey
• AWESOME green beans
• stuffing
• cranberry stuff
• mashed sweet potatoes
• 3 different kinds of pie
• 3 different kinds of ice cream

So besides the dessert stuff, my favorite thing was the green beans!! They were so good all made up with cream of mushroom soup and crispy french fried onions... YUM.

Well, on Black Friday we didn't go shopping anywhere, but today us GIRLS did go out to some stores to get some presents for dad and my brother. =)

But on Black Friday we did go get a Christmas tree as our tradition rules us... =) Last year we went out in freezing rain, so this year there was nothing stopping us with 40 degree sunny, blu-sky weather! =) It was fun decorating the tree last night too. That's usually my favorite part of Christmas besides Christmas day... =)

Narnialover95 is a member of that group too! =) Anyway, I am mentioning it because... well... I don't know! But I have just joined a different group called HSBartists for template-makers, and it is pretty cool! I have yet to figure out all the details, but oh well! I'll get it eventually... you should ALL check out the blog there. SICKNESS!!!!!!

UGH.

I am sick...

It's just a cold, but I feel AWFUL. Well, I DID feel awful yesterday and the day before that, but I am actually feeling a little better today. HALLELUJAH!!

Anyway, I guess this cold has sort of been a blessing in disguise, because it has forced me to slow down and relax and sleep, none of which I have been doing lately... =P But it is a reeeally bad cold. No cough or anything, just runny nose, and the worst part is ITCHY EYES... UGHHHHHH!!! That part kills!!

But I am glad, because I have been able to read books 2 and 3 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, which are really cool!!! I think that the books are easy and fast, and that they COULD be written just a little better, but they have an awesome plotline, which is what I really go for in recreational books. Because I often read just because I need to relax and unwind, which is hard to do with something, you know, more "challenging"...

Well, I am going to get back to doing either schoolwork or tinkering with my template blog a little more... =)

Love

I was intrigued by everything that I have been talking about lately, and I decided to go to the Bible. Lately I have been struggling with this problem that I am writing about, which is whether I should bother with having a boyfriend, or if this is a life experience that I need to pass up. I do want to have a boyfriend, but I know that this desire is from the human part of me, not from the Holy Spirit, so I don't know what to do right now. I have been thinking things like: Just because it is from the human part of me doesn't mean that I can't do it, if it is God's will. Well, I wanted some peace, so I decided to look around in my Bible's index and try to find passages that were helpful. Well, I found several, and I wrote them all down and tried to explain in words what the mean to me personally.

Psalm 37:4-"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

This verse really reminded me of something I read in a Brio magazine under one of the Girl of the Year columns. She said this about trying to get a godly boyfriend: "A pastor once told me, "Run to Jesus, then turn around and see who's trying to catch up with you.'" I think that is so profound. It means that if we focus completely on Jesus and take our delight from Him, and Him alone, then our desires of this world will leave us, and we will be a new person, only desiring to please God.

Psalm 37:7a-"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;"

God will bring us love, and if he chooses not to, then we can know that he will provide a source of peace and happiness in this situation. But we must be patient and trust God

Psalm 63:3-"Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You."

This verse is awesome. Just plain awesome. It reminds me that 1) God loves me in an unbelievable way, 2) If I don't love God, then I have nothing to live for, because His love is better than anything I can do in a million years, and 3) God is my perfect lover!!! Often, we want guys to please us to perfection, when love is all about imperfections. When I have moments like that, when I want to be in love with a perfect person, I can turn to Jesus and there he is waiting for me.

And my conclusion is.....

I don't know.

I of course am not going to have a boyfriend for several years still, so I don't have to make that descision right now. When I do come into situations where I need to choose, I think that God will tell me the way he wants me to go, and I hope I listen.

I hope this has helped you a little bit to understand what I believe and stuff. Thanks for reading.

Hey ya'll!

So, I have been asked a very challenging question.

What are my views on dating?

OK. I am not an expert in this subject, but I do have some things that I can say about the subject.

I have read the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye and I thought it was excellent. It has really set me to thinking critically about the whole issue of dating that I know will be coming up in my life. I am 13 and people are already beginning to pair off with other kids and claim other people.

My whole mentality right now is:

I want to treat these guys like brothers in Christ. Isn't that the best relationship we could have?

And the answer is yes. I believe with my whole heart that guys deserve to be treated like our brothers, and we have no right to claim them and call them ours. BUT.

As I said I have not yet decided what I personally am going to do about it. It is a big temptation right now to say "What the heck, why not have a boyfriend??" and just ignore God. But I have been praying regularly for me to have peace in the situation I am in right now and for Him to just open my eyes so I can see what he wants me to do. I am in the middle of the sticky question right now, and it wasn't the BEST time to be asking me the question, but I am glad you did.

These two verses talk about love, and treating others as our brothers. They are two of my favorite verses.

1 John 3:16-This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7-Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
