Various Updates

I thought I should update on my pregnancy as I haven’t written about it in a while. I am feeling much better now. It is so nice when your every waking moment doesn’t revolve around food or throwing it up again. I can now concentrate on making sure I get enough protein at every meal to help build a healthy baby. Below is a link on the cause of morning sickness and a possible cure. I wish I had read this a couple of months back. It would be nice to know if it actually works.

 Morning Sickness

The blood clot that caused some trouble earlier in this pregnancy is in the process of resolving itself. I had another ultrasound last week and the haematoma has reduced in size dramatically and is in the process of being reabsorbed by the body. It was wonderful to see the baby move, clench its fists, do somersaults and just look like a cute baby. I am now impatient to see this baby. Nineteen weeks seems too long to wait for the birth.

I am trying to be more active and have taken up swimming, walking and using my exercise bike occasionally. I tend to start well but usually slip back into a lack of motivation and the exercise stays on my to-do list. I hope that I can push myself and keep going for a while longer.

On another subject entirely, we have started FIAR (Five in a Row) with Robert and Daniel. So far, we have worked through Ping, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, Madeline and Papa Piccolo. This week we are reading Grandfather’s Journey. The boys have made flags from Italy, France and China, and are now quite adept at reading a world map to point out the countries we study with each new book we read. The Eiffel Tower in France and the fact it has 1652 steps fascinated them.

Karli has begun University and is now in her second week. I managed to survive her first week okay. I think she did a lot better than I did. It is scary sending a daughter to Uni, alone. She has one exam still to sit and then her external studies are over and she can concentrate solely on her university work.

On Sunday afternoons, Karli, Jessica, Rebekah and Rachael, along with some other homeschoolers, are having Historic Ballroom Dancing lessons; the type of dances that are in the Jane Austen movies. They haven’t met Mr Darcy yet but there are definitely a few Mr Collinses around.

How funny - I bet there are many mister Collinses around. The good thing is that your daughters have the common sense of Jane and not the foolishness of Charlotte!

Your update is perfectly timed to my recent post - I listed all the expecting moms on my friends list (including you!) and asked others for prayer for all these moms.

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better and that things are going o.k. for you. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well and quickly. I can imagine your excitement to meet this new member of your family.

Take care and God bless!
Kate

I'm badly behind on my blog reading, but I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. It sounds like you are quite active as well! I bet the ballroom dancing lessons are lots of fun. I imagine that would be quite interesting.
