To Be At Home

“The industrial revolution came and took the men from the home. Compulsory schooling came and took the children from the home. Feminism came and took the women from the home. And now...they are all out working to pay the mortgage so the dog can stay at home by himself.”

Excerpt taken from To Be At Home, a great article by Carolyn McCulley over at Radical Womanhood.

How true that comment is! In our house, it would be the fish at home!

We are so fortunate that my husband was self-employed for 15+ years, so that he could be home at different times, which meant more time with the kids. Now as a nurse, he's home for 3 days straight, and parts of 2 days (he works 12-hr shifts), which means more quality time for family. We are very home-centered - and I like it that way!

Hope you are feeling well.

Kate
