HIS KIDS Home-school Network

First of all, thanks to all of you who came to "cinnamon-applesauce" cookie/ornament making day on Monday.  Our December HIS KIDS outing was a hoot!  I was a blessing to be around you all!

Now, for the great news!  It’s HIS MOMS NITE again this Friday night.  Meet us at Texas Steakhouse for a wonderful meal & conversation between 6-9pm.  No kiddies, no hubbies!

Season’s Greetings!

Just wanted to update you on some happenings in our home-school community and our local community!  Remember, these are just a few of the happenings in our area!  Check out the "happenings" section of our Jacksonville Daily News, visit a local church & enjoy a Christmas cantada or play, visit the stores and spread your own holiday cheer!  Whatever you do, grab those kids and get involved!  Your not just making fun, you’re making memories!

*  November 25th:  Jacksonville Parks & Rec is hosting a Thanksgiving Skate at the Recreation Station in Jacksonville.  1-5pm, $4 per participant.  FREE laser tag to the 1st 300 kids.  12 and under must have adult with them at all times.

*  November 26th:  Happy Thanksgiving from Kim and myself!  We pray your home is blessed with family, friends, food & health.  May the Lord bless you and keep you!

*  November 27th:  Annual Swansboro Flotilla, downtown Swansboro waterfront.  Usually begins around dusk.

*  December 1st:  EFMP special needs connection network is hosting a FREE movie night.  6:30, bldg 199 (formerly off. Paradise Pt. Child  Care Bldg) FREE movie, popcorn & drink.  RSVP to 910-451-4394.  Must be registered with EFMP via the military.  The movie will be Ice Age 3.  Enjoy!

*  December 4th:  Victory Baptist Church will be having their family fun night at Mike’s Farm!  Meet at the church (1830 Wilmington Hwy) at 5:30 to caravan to Mike’s Farm for their lighted hayride.  Then caravan back to the church for Christmas goodies & fellowship!  Mike’s Farm is approx. $7 per participant, Goodies at church are free!  We’d love to have you join us!

*  December 5th:  Starting at 12pm at Jacksonville Commons Rec Ctr there will be carnival games & prizes, hay rides, clown, inflatables, arts & crafts, fire trucks, puppets, DARE car, Mr & Mrs Claus and more!  Enjoy the day for FREE!

*  December 6th:  "The Gifts of the Magi" featured at the New Bern Civic Theatre in New Bern.  10pm.  Tickets $20 advance/$22 at door.    Call 252-633-0567 for more info.

*  December 11th & 12th:  Bethlehem Baptist Church on Gum Branch Road is hosting "A Night in Bethlehem:  A Hands-on Holy Land Experience"  A unique out-reach experience like you’ve never seen before.  You will be transported back to the time Jesus was born, walk through Bethlehem, register for the census as Mary & Joseph did, visit local shops and see craftsmen at work!  You will encounter townspeople, tax collectors, Roman soldiers and more!  This event is FREE and open to the public. 

*  December 12th:  Richlands Night Parade, 5:30, downtown Richlands.  FREE.

*  December 14th:  HIS KIDS outing!  We will be making cinnamon ornaments & decorations.  Bring a finger food & drink to share.  10am-12pm.  Location will be announced shortly!

*  December 18th:  HIS MOMS outing.  6-8pm.  No kids, no husbands!  Location TBA.

*  December 25th:  Merry Christmas from Kim and Ginger!  We pray your home is filled with the love of CHRIST as we celebrate His birthday.  Jesus really is the reason for the season!

*  January 1st, 2010!  Welcome to the New Year!  We wish you health and happiness and all the joy of our Lord and Savior!  We look forward to seeing you at upcoming HIS KIDS events! 

Hello all!  Gobble, gobble!  It’s HIS MOMS night again and we invite you to join us!

Due to a men’s Bible study with our hubbies and a turkey holiday, we have moved HIS MOMS to Saturday, November 21st, 6-9pm.  We will meet at "Spill the Beans" in Swansboro for coffee and more!  We hope you’ll be able to come on out and join us!  If you need directions, please email us at hiskidshomeschoolnetwork@live.com.

For those of you who haven’t heard, our November field trip will be a joint venture with other Onslow area home-schoolers and we are having a Fall Festival!

There will be games, candy, eats & treats!  If you would like to come, please bring:

*  one bag of candy PER child

*  a finger food & drink to share

*  a lawn chair for mom & dad

*  any yard games you’d like to share
