This is our music curriculum this year along with piano and voice lessons.  We are using these books along with Rebecca Berg's The History of Classical Music. These are all really great books.  We will do this study over about two years.  We usually do this study on the day we have piano lessons and then we listen to the composer we are studying in the car on the way.  My nine year old daughter asked for opera tickets for her birthday one year!  We did find one appropriate for her ... Beauty and the Beast ... not the Disney version for sure ... but she loved it and begs to go back.  Most cities also have some great symphony programs for students. We try to do at least two performances per year.  This year I have my heart set on Handel's The Messiah.
