BFS: Assignment 24 - Easter Blessings

Posted in Blogger Friend School

The BFS Assignment this week is to write about Easter plans we have this year, or Easter memories we have from the past.

This Easter was wonderful and relaxing! I got to sleep in a little bit, thanks to my dd being super sweet and letting me sleep !! After I got up and moving, we went downstairs to find that the Easter Bunny had in fact come! He hid Liz's basket and eggs around the house for her to find! I think, as usual, Seth (dh) and my bros had just as much fun with the egg hunt as Liz did! I then cooked breakfast for everyone (Monkey Bread Muffins) and then we all bathed and got dressed just in time for my cousin and aunt to arrive! With everyone present at my parent's house (parents, two brothers, and my grandfather) we spent about 3 hours with my family and then left to travel down to spend time with Seth's family at his aunt's house.  I do have to say that it was a sad year though, because Seth's sister (Sierra) was not present... She and her dh are located about 7 hours away, and he was stuck working this holiday ..... Other than this, it was a normal Easter there. We relaxed and talked while we got settled in. We then ate dinner - Ham, Asparagas, apple sauce, biscuits, corn, stuffing, salad, and baked beans. After dinner we all participated in a family Easter scavenger hunt - we divide into three teams and each follow a different set of clues around (written in DR. Suess style) and the team who finds all 8 clues first gets a prize (usually Lindt or Dove chocolate!). I am honestly not doing this game justice - the amount of creativity that goes into it is remarkable! After dinner, we had dessert and celebrated Seth's birthday with cake (all of the family is gathered and his b-day is in a couple of days).

This is our normal Easter routine every year - except we usually go to church and this year we watch church online live. In our very populated area - Easter service is insane with all of the people that go to church one time a year. Our church runs shuttle services from a local shopping center where people can park because the lot over-flows. We decided to avoid the insanity and watch it live online. Next year we will definatly go -  just with my family arriving and in town, it made more sense to do it this way.

God Bless you all!!
