Working together

It is now one week until our “Celebrate Life” event and we are all very excited, albeit a tad nervous.  The past few days we have been working on putting together the silent auction items, by logging them into the computer and calculating values.  Some of the smaller items will be combined with another small item.  It takes a lot of work and yes there are moments when frustrations arise.  But, the great thing is that Will and I are working with our two oldest (mainly) on the planning of this event and we have gotten a lot of opportunities to talk with them on a variety of issues.  We have had such a great time laughing together, and discussing at length why it is that we are even putting together this life rally.  While the kids might not have been completely clear on why this was important to them last year, I can definitely say that this year, they have a good understanding and a strong desire to see the event be a success.

Success would be measured by having people come to need to be reminded of the sacredness of life.  It would also be clear that we had been a success if we are able to raise some money for our local Community Pregnancy Centers.  Sometimes, though, success will be hard to measure because we are praying that God would challenge people’s hearts and that He would bring the people who need to be there.  We are honestly hoping for a big crowd, but we’ll trust God for the numbers.

I can truthfully say that my children have worked hard, put their best effort forth, and now we are asking for God’s blessing and abundant outpouring of His mercies on the event.  We can’t wait…February 25th, here we come!
