• Oct. 6, 2008 - Wahoo!! Disney!!

Posted By Aja
And yes, I come with my own sound effects and soundtrack. =D

Well, we drove down to Orlando yesterday in what must've been the shortest 6-8 hour drive of my entire LIFE. It did help that it was me and Winter and her parents in the car taking pictures of the most random things and arguing the fact that a quarter horse does not exist; there are only whole horses.

Yeah, long story, don't ask.

Anywho, we also watched IRON MAN!!! Woo-hoo! More on that later, but Tony Stark was a lot more laid back than Bruce Wayne. Then again, Bruce does have psychopathic clowns to deal with...that'd make anyone freak out.

But this post is NOT about Batman! Or Iron Man! Or quarter horses for that matter!
((Sorry, sometimes I have to remind myself to STAY ON TRACK. =P))

Right. Disney.

We went to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping last night.

It was pretty cool...it's got everything from restaurants (like Capt. Jack's, where we ate some of the best shrimp and penne pasta EVERRRR!!!!) to stores like the World of Disney. But my personal favorite wasw the Ghirardelli store right across the lagoon/street from Capt. Jack's.

Can you say YUM?!

And if you think it looks cool in the daytime, y'all should see it at NIGHT! Wooooo!!!!

Today, we went to ANIMAL KINGDOM!

That's the Tree of Life, which, contrary to popular belief, is NOT ALIVE. But it's still really, really cool.

The first thing we did was Expedition Everest. ((Oh yeah! Bonus feature for this commentary--the average rider's thoughts will be in double-parentheses, okay?))

It's this roller coaster where you go through Mount Everest--oops, sorry, the Forbidden Mountain--in a train car. (("That works!"))

And there's all this Yeti stuff, right? A Yeti museum, Yeti statues, stuff recovered from a 'lost expedition' in 1982 that was mauled by a Yeti...you get the idea. (("Ooo, cool Yeti footprint...and I thought I had big feet."))

And that's all BEFORE the ride starts! (("...Huh?"))

So you climb into your little train car and go up a little hill and around a few curves and such. (("Aw, man, this is easy! Bring it on, baybaaay!!"))

And then...you go up the most ginormous hill in Animal Kingdom. From the top, you can literally see the Tower of Terror over at MGM--'scuse me, Disney's Hollywood Studios. (("Hey, look! I can see Russia AND my house!"))

Then you drop (("*le gasp*")) and through a tunnel, and up to a point where you...stop. Literally. The track ahead of you has been totally destroyed and ripped up by THE YETI!!! (("Dun dun DAAAAH! Bad Yeti, bad!...so what now?"))

'What now'? you say? (("Yeah, there's nowhere else to go! And we're up on this obscenely high mountain where there is no human way to get down without severe injury and/or certain death!"))

Wanna bet? (("You don't mean...?"))

Oh yeah. You go BACKWARDS!!! (("*scream*"))

You bet you scream! The G's kick in once you start going backwards up the hill. After going backwards for a while, there's another drop where they take your picture by blinding you with a strobe light. And this ain't no wimpy little drop, either. This one's the KING of Everest, y'all. KING.

So, yeah, typical roller coaster stuff from there on out. Except half of it's in the dark. Oh yeah, and the big hairy Yeti. (("Yeti?!"))

Yeah, with glowing red eyes and big sharp pointy teeth. (("I'll be in the gift shop..."))

CHICKEN!!!!

In short...Everest is my new favorite ride of ALL TIME. Winter and I rode it SEVEN TIMES. SEVEN!!!!! And hopefully we'll go back so we can do it even MORE!!

We spent pretty much the rest of the day at Animal Kingdom. Until the park closed at 6. We had dinner in the park, then we went to Downtown to catch a movie--EAGLE EYE!

It was soooo creepy...it was AWESOME! It was really loud, though...-_- Shia LaBeouf was awesome as Jerry Shaw, though...'Jump, Jerry, Jump!'

I should probably wrap up now, even though I haven't even mentioned the totally awesomerifical movie/music store we went in at Downtown. There. I mentioned it. HA.

More Disney tomorrow!

• Oct. 6, 2008 - Chapter 2 in my story :D!

Chapter 2:

Red Snow.

The night crept on. Aramil’s body still lay limp on the soil. Blood soaked the earth.

Cursing soldiers were somewhere out in the distance, disturbing the nights peace, but from here their curses were nearly inaudible.

A cold wind blew through. Aramil was still limp. Drops of white powder landed on the ground. It was snowing. He started shivering violently, but alas his eyes did not open. He was bleeding too much; the arrow must have hit a blood vein.

Slowly, Aramil became incased in the snow and ice. A bush he had landed next to guarded his face enough so that he could breath. Blood seeped into the snow, hinting it with streaks of red. He was barley holding on to the will to live, but something deep inside him kept him living… For now.

It started to get brighter, the sun was coming up. An hour passed. The sun was completely out, but it was blocked by the grey sky and the falling snow.

                                                             *****

Inside a small farmhouse hidden from society, three people began to awake and prepare for the day ahead. The first to be up was a young boy of nine years, Rothimil by name; who was sitting in the family room. His main excitement was that his older brother would be back from town today, and he couldn’t wait for him to tell stories of what happened during his visit. He hoped that someday, he to could go with his brother to town… He had only been there once before, and from what he remembered, it was a wonderful place. There were so many people it was overwhelming for him, and the buildings were so large!

The other thing on his mind was the wonderful fact that it was snowing. Hopefully his brother wouldn’t be too tired to have a snowball fight!

Interrupting his thoughts were footsteps coming down the hallway from his parents’ room, and he turned around to see who it was, and to his delight it was his father, wearing his coat and warm leggings. His father was a fairly young man, but very wise. He was also very strong by Rothimils’ standards; he could lift an entire tree! His hair was black and cut short, and he had a beard that reached half way down his neck.  “Are we going to go out into the snow?” he asked; excitement in his voice. His father smiled, and nodded his head. “Aye son, feel free to have fun this morning. There’s not much work to be done today, and your mother has planned a large warm meal for us today with the meat your brother is going to bring back today.”

Rothimil was overjoyed and ran out the door.

The snow was easily three feet deep, and it was still snowing! This would be a grand day indeed. He roamed around the yard, said good morning to the chickens, and shook the trees so snow would fall on top of him; laughing the whole way through, unaware of what lied net even 40 feet away from him.
