The back reads:
**Now boarding at Gate 10**
“After her high school graduation, still aching from Todd’s departure, Christy joins her family on a trip to Wisconsin to visit relatives. While there, she reunites with Matthew, an old friend from junior high. When Matthew starts to show a romantic interest in Christy, she realizes this summer vacation could change everything she thought her future would be.

**In the Even of a Water Landing**
Fifteen-year-old Sierra Jensen can’t wait to spend her summer vacation with her friend Jana at a pristine lake in Montana. But when they arrive, it becomes clear that Jana’s only interest is acquiring a boyfriend. Sierra just wants to hang out with the guys as friends, but Jana turns every encounter into a possible romantic relationship. As their friendship begins to suffer, Sierra wonders if it is possible to find a Forever Frien who will listen to you, laugh with you, and keep you confidences.”
I liked the size of this book, and the two individual stories combined. I was able to finish it in two days.
It was of course well-written, since it was by Robin J. Gunn :)
The only thing I wasn’t really too thrilled about at all, was how much the two books were centered around emotions and feelings about guys. I know that is what the theme of the books were, but it can cause a real stumbling block for younger girls, in my opinion. Just be cautious – very -  when reading this book.
I also thought it was neat when they were at MOA, because I’ve been there, and could mentally picture everything they talked about.
Overall, I would give this book four stars. I enjyoed it, but like I said, it was a little too guy-oriented.

Lady in Waiting by Susan Meissner

This story was about two Janes. One in present day. One in the past. They are conected by mere name and a ring.
Present day Jane struggles with her marraige. Past Jane struggles with her noble birth. Both have struggled with choices.
The back of the book reads:

“Content in her comfortable marriage of twenty-two years, Jane Lindsay had never expected to watch her husband, Brad, pack his belongings and walk out the door of their Manhattan home. But when it happens, she feels powerless to stop him and the course of events that follow Brad’s departure.
Jane finds an old ring in a box of relics from a British jumble sale and discovers a Latin inscription in the band along with just one recognizable word: Jane. Feeling an instant connection to the mysterious ring bearing her name-sake, Jane begins a journey to learn more about the ring – and perhaps about herself.
                  ++++++++++++

In the sixteenth-century, Lucy Day becomes the dreemaker to Lady Jane Grey, and innocent young woman whose fate seems to be controlled by a dangerous political and religious climate, one threatening to deny her true love and pursuit of her own interests.
As the stories of both Janes dovetail through the journey od one ring, it becomes clear that each woman has far more influence over her life than she once imagined. It all come down to the choices each makes despite the realities they face.”

My personal thoughts on this book are these:
It was a enjoyable book, but I did not like that there really wasn’t all that much Godly imput. You could tell this book was more of a filler than cerntered around the Lord, and I really didn’t care for that.
The history aspect of it was very good. I find that time period extremely intreging. I’ve read quite a bit on the Tudors and such myself.
The present day Jane’s story, however, did not impress me very much. There were many parts that really didn’t need to be in there.
I deffinitely prefered the old time Jane’s story, but even some of the romance in that, the author went a little to far with it.
One other thing I wasn’t too fond on was how it was very “Me” centered. God doesn’t want us to make us happy. But Him. All our efferts to be happy, should be on Him. The world does teach us that we should focus on our needs, it will improve everything else, but I personally believe that is a lie.
Mrs. Meissner does have writing talent even though I think she maybe could be a little more thoughtful of what she puts in. She describes well, and writing flows, which I did appreciate.
But really, one of the main things that stuck to me, a red flag sort of, was that it was lacking in Godly value.
I would give this 3.5 stars.

I do not recomend this for teens or younger.

“Sir Quinlan and the Swords of Valor” By Chuck Black…reviewed by Raechel

Hello Peoples of the earth! :)
I am apart of Blogging for Books and I read a book  published by Multnomah and now I am supposed to review it! So I shall do that in a minute, here, but first, them me ask you: Could you please rate how I did on my review? Like giving my 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 stars? Danke! Here is the review:
Sir Quinlan and the Swords of Valor
             By Chuck Black

This book starts out in a city, that shows a very nice life. It is about two young men, in the beginning, who are living a very content life. Little do they know, that that isn’t what the King would want. The two men, are quite the opposite, but good friends. Upon reading the first couple chapters, one would think that Tav would be the main hero here. But when reading further and thinking deeply, you find who really is the hero of the two; the weeker.
This book, is one that will take you on an amazing journey, one that you won’t want to put down.
It portrays the good and the evil in a fasinating way, and with such talent! It reminded me sort of Pilgrim’s Progress, because of the real underlying message, and the top story. I loved how this book was fiction, yet not at the same time. It was easy to keep your mind stayed on Christ when reading this book. Chuck Black wrote this book amazingly well, and inspiringly so. If only there were more books of this type.
The back of the book reads:

“Sir Quinlan leaves his boyhood friend to serve the Prince, fighting a battle darker and more intense than any he’s ever known. The mysterious Sir Baylor recruits him into the ranks of an elite unit of knights known as the Swords of Valor, but when tragedy strikes and everyone blames Quinlan, the Swords of Valor disban, ending a legacy of heroic deeds. Alone and despairing, Quinlan wanders the kindom, fleeing his past. His providential encounter with Taras, a mysterious Silent Warrior and former trainer of Valor Knights, offers Quinlan a chance to redeem himself and learn the ways of the secret warriors. The Training is grueling, and just wen Quinlan seems to have left his failures behind, he receives an impossible challenge from the Prince – one that will force him to face his past…and the mighty men who blame him for the tragedy that ruined them.
Can Quinland reunite the Valor Knights in time to save the people from the Dark Knight’s evil plot to rule the Kingdom of Arrethtrae, or will the Valor Knights lose the most important battle of all?”

I really have nothing but praise to give the book. I was really awed and amazed at the message and the story line. It is a wonderful book for both males and females alike. I would recommend this book to just about anyone, really. I loved it, and I think it has made my list of favourites! It can’t be explained justly, because of how good the book is, so don’t take my word, just read it for yourself! May you be blessed by it, like I was!
