I was nervous.
What if I messed something up or was lazy?
What if I just couldn’t understand what they were trying to teach me?
I bet everyone has had that feeling their first day of work.
It was my first day at working my dream job at our local quilt store, Cole’s Country Treasures . I had known most of the employees on a first name basis for several years, I had even helped out costumers while in the store. Still, I was scared, excited… but scared.
But, when I walked in and just did what my boss told me,everything came naturally.
First my boss taught me how to use the register. I was able to get the hang of it pretty fast, except I kept forgetting where certain buttons were located and I wasn’t very comfortable ringing people up. But hey, it was my first day! As soon as she showed me the register, our first costumers walked in. They were new quilters and they signed up for our $5.00 Block of The Month.
Then my boss put me to work, packing kits. I am afraid that I forgot to put all the fabrics into the bags, but thankfully I was able to catch my mistake and correct it.
The day went by fast. When I was done with one job I always had another to do. When costumers visited I always tried to have a smile and a cheerful greeting. I pray that Christ shone through my smile and voice.
My first day wasn’t perfect, but I had a lot of fun serving costumers and my boss. I can’t wait till my second day!

Wow! How exciting, I sure would be nervous!!! But it sounds like you did a great job, it also sounds like fun!!! How often do you work?
Do you go to a homeschool co-op? We do.
