This banner is as bright and attention-getting as the programs on this website. Galaxy of Education has created a set of tutorials to help and encourage your child with any type of remedial work he/she needs in math. This is an awesome product. My daughter has benefited from using it and I have appreciated receiving it, gratis, from Galaxy of Education in order to use it and review it. It can be downloaded on PCs and Macs. There are six subject areas covering math skills from K-12.
* Whole Numbers Fun
* Fractions Fun
* Decimals, Proportions, % Fun
* Word Problems Fun
* Pre-Algebra Fun
* Algebra Fundamentals (I guess older students do not want to have fun!
)

This page is representative of the directory for each topic. The student or teacher can click on the area which needs work and pull up the program. Each subject in this directory starts with an explanation option which provides a progressive, step-by-step presentation of the subject matter and sample problems. The student is walked through the process at an unhurried pace, thus allowing for processing time.

If there is a need for more practice examples and explanation, there is that option presented at the end of the solution. The instructions are clearly written with various options available to optimize comprehension. For example, in the Word Problems Fun Download, the students are offered a speed option for their word problems to give them as much time as they need to work through the problem and also minimize pressure to perform. The goal is understanding and learning, not necessarily speed and performance. As the children work on the different subjects, they earn robots for use in the Labyrinth game. They cannot play the game without these robots. This provides a light-hearted incentive for the budding mathematicians.
Should your child still struggle with understanding a concept, there are programs called Worksheet Generators on the site. There are Whole Number, Fractions, Decimals, Proportions, &%s, and Algebra Worksheet Generators. Each of these subjects also have a directory of concepts to facilitate choosing exactly which type of worksheet you need to pull-up, print out, and use to reinforce concepts. My favorites are the riddle sheets because they are clever and corny, always good for a laugh or groan, and create a light-hearted approach to math practice. I am a hardcopy person and, even though I go with the flow and use the computer for school in a controlled way, these worksheets are a treat for me. They also give me a means of checking on whether Amelia is doing the work on the computer and if her comprehension is improving. They help me hold her accountable for her time when I cannot be checking her use of the computer

. In addition to the interactive programs and the Worksheet Generators, are the two eBooks: Whole Number Riddles and Fraction Riddles. These are more suitable for younger students. I appreciate the blending of computer and hardcopy work. These math products can accommodate all three learning styles, for, if you have a visual learner, they can read, an auditory learner can read the materials out loud, and a kinesthetic learner can use the computer and also use the worksheets with manipulatives. The student can benefit from using these programs no matter what his/her learning strength is.
There are three words which sum up Math Galaxy: Brightness, Clarity, and Fun. Brightness of color and design, Clarity of instruction, and Fun-filled activities.
Each computer program and worksheet generator can be purchased from Math Galaxy for $29.95. The eBooks can be purchased for $14.95 each. They come with a 30-day, money-back guarantee.
