Every day I hear our delightfuly humorous children say things that just make me laugh with delight. They have their parent's quick wit and sarcasm, and it fills our home with laughter. Here is one from tonight: First an explanation; the older "half" of our children all live away from home, our 24 year old son, Matthew, lives in Green Bay and has been on his own for 6 years. Our daughter Jeni is 21 and is a Senior at North Central University in the Twin Cities where she is studying Youth ministry with a minor is Missions. Our daughter Mandy is 19 and is attending college to be an administrative assistant, she lives with her brother Matthew in a nice apartment. Matthew and Mandy come home often on the weekends and we see Jeni every few months. That all said, here is the funny: I was doing dishes with the 3 younger girls and so we were talking and I mentioned how after our third child, Mandy was born we were told by many that three was ENOUGH children, and so we talked about not having any more children. I was saying this with remorse that we could ever have thought this way when our 15 year old stated very matter of factly " Oh mom, then you would have missed the better half!" I laughed at her joke. I would not do without any of these precious lives so entwined with mine. |
