The last few days have been interesting here in our home. One of our children has been troubled by some thoughts and nightmares which are not from God. It has meant nights without sleep, but also a reviewing of what we believe pertaining to our prayers and the spiritual realm. It has been good to help this precious one to stand on truth, to teach her the principal that satan is the father of lies and so we use God's Word and His truth to help us take every thought captive. Heavy stuff for a child, yet great ground for training another child to trust in God and His Holy Word. I encouraged her that there will be a time that she can use this experience to help someone else as Paul teaches us in the NT. On the morning after the first hard night we went to our Bible time and the passage was: James 4 --- God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble, therefore submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you...... Isn't God good? We rejoiced together later over God having that be the passage for the day. Resisting takes on many forms depending on the need, and we evaluated what the need was for this time in her lilfe. Her fiath is pure and beauitful and growing quickly. I am happy to say that today it is better, not gone but she is walking strong in Christ. It was precious to see her this morning clutching a card with some Psalms written on it, given to her by an older sister. What affects one of us affects us all, that is certainly another reason the family is s gift from God. What a safe and wonderful place to grow and learn. What a responsibility we as parents have to teach the truth, encourage exhort and discipline. I am so thankful we have a Father in heaven to lead my husband and I. Worship today was joyful, humbling, reflective. God's presence was felt and I rejoiced in my Saviour as we looked at God's Word together. 1 Tim. 2, One God, one Mediator, Jesus Christ, we need no other. We will head back to evening service soon, the delightful time of being together and sharing and worshiping our Lord as the family He has put together here in the Nor Door. |
