Taxes and trusting

Posted in Spiritual Life

We finally got the taxes done and to our accountant.  it has been long hours of work in the office for me, and equally long hours for the girls as they have had to do most of their school time together helping each other.  This works for a time but is not how we believe we should teach the children.  Today they were out of control with need for adult supervision :).
They did valentines all morning for family members and added pictures to our loved ones who live away.  Pictures of the girls and the horse etc..  It was fun but they just became goofy.  After lunch I made hot cocoa and we read some of our story from Shakespeare stories.  We are on Hamlet.  We did The Taming of the Shrew and found it hysterical.  I laughed and laughed.  The girls eventually settled down and did their work.
I ended up going and laying down as the vertigo is back as of last night.  I could feel it starting the last week, but, last night I could not move my head without the room spinning.  It makes for a long night.  Even laying down sent my head reeling.  I am wondering what this weekend will be like if this does not settle down.
My Dad has had some unusual swelling in his feet.  This has troubled us all as my Dad, being handicap from MS needs to take care of his feet and legs as well.  They saw numerous doctors and ruled out blood clots etc..  But, the last doctor really upset me.  He did not see why it would be such a big deal for him to not be able to wear shoes due to the swelling being so severe.  What is wrong with a human being wanting to protect and keep warm his feet, and to have the dignity of wearing shoes.  I could not believe his attitude.  So much for Holistic health care.
I am leading Beth Moore's Jesus the One and Only for the third time ( and it gets better each time).  I was reading in Luke 6 about the man with the crippled hand and how God healed him.  Healing is a mystery, why does God heal me of a lump and not my Dad?  I am thankful that I believe in a Sovereign God Whom I can trust to make the best decision in my life.  He is so good.  I cried as I prayed for God to take care of my Dad and heal the swelling.  I am glad to say that today when I called my Dad said that it is much better.  Praise God.
I will go and read with Melody and rest, which, sometimes helps vertigo to settle down.

Doesn't it feel good to have the taxes done. Actually, we're not done yet, my dh does 95% of it, but I just got my part done - recording the music lessons & homeschool tax credit part and it's great to be done with that.

I have had vertigo a couple of times in the past. My doctor perscribed to me Meclizine 12.5 MG. I don't know how you feel about perscription drugs - I usually try to avoid them, but this helped tons. I can usually get by with just taking 1/2 of a pill and the dizziness is gone. They really put me out - no driving heavy farm equipment - lol, but they work.

So sorry to hear about your dad. It is so hard when those we love are sick. I am glad to hear he is doing better and will remember you and your dad in prayer.

Have a blessed day.
Jane

I just read through many of your blogs and left a comment on one perhaps a little bit down the page. As I kept reading after I left a comment, I found that we had several things in common. Were around the same age for one thing...I'm a bit ahead of you, though. I'm 48 (almost 49) and I do remember the birthday of 45. It was then it hit me that I'm getting close to 50. But every birthday since, it doesn't bother me, I just pray consistently, that He'll help me age "with grace".
We also have 6 children! And I have 2 grown ones (compared to your three). I still have three at home and I positively love it!!! I just can't imagine a life without children still at home. I am the only one of all my friends and relatives that are in my dh and I age bracket and still raising children. They think were crazy, yet, I know they just don't know what their missing! I wouldn't change places for all the solitaire and freedom that they have in the world!
The ages of my children still at home: 15 (g), 12(b), 8(g), and 5(b). My oldest two are 25 (g) and 23 (b). I have two grandchildren. I love homeschooling although it's a tough job at times and a ton of responsibility!
I hope you don't mind, but I look forward to adding you to my friends list. It's wonderful to know other moms that are in the same age bracket, lots of kids, and some little ones still at home. Oh, and we have horses, too!
