Some days are just special, this was one of them. We woke up to lots of snow so Rick had to get on the job for plowing before going to work. He left at 5:00 to start that job. I got up at 6:00 and grabbed a cup of coffee and had some quiet time, then check weather reports and finally called Tenn. to my parents to get them up to date on our plans to head their way the end of this week. The girls slowly got up, Matthew and I had a chance to visit for awhile and go over his flight plans for heading to Tenn. of Friday and meeting us there for a few days. It was then I noticed that the horse fence was down so Annie and I went out and had to move three cedar trees that had bent over the fence due to the weight of 16 inches of wet snow. We redid the fence where it was down and cleared snow from under the bottom wire. I am just so thankful for such a good mare who is fence shy and is content to stay put. The local school was cancelled and so we decided to have a snow party here in the afternoon AFTER some chores were done. We cleaned up a little and had lunch, visited with Mandy who did not leave for classes in Green Bay because of the roads. The girls all invited their friends and Mandy went and got Matthew's fancy Arctic Cat snowmobile, after much begging and they headed to the field across the road to pull sleds behind and take rides. Hannah and Melody worked on Melody's fort which her daddy had started for her. It tunred out really cool with a tunnel and walls. They all took a break back in the house for hot chocolate and games, then headed back out for more fun. Later they came in and watched an episode of MONK before heading home. It was much later than I thought when I drove them home, so supper was late. After supper, while Rick was on the couch in our bedroom watching TV, I packed his clothing for him. I always need him to tell me what he wants as in Tenn. he will be doing the ranching with Guy as it is calving time there. We got work clothes packed, church clothes etc.. It was good to get him done. I chatted on the phone with our daughter Jeni and then watched the end of Super Nanny before starting the process of getting everyone to bed. Not much school done today, but lots of fun memories! |
