Another one of those troubles with homeschooling!
Posted in Home Life
Today our daughter is leaving for Florida with a family from our church. Their daughter is a last born, her brothers have all left the house, and therfore she wanted a friend along for this vacation. Kristi is just a wonderful girl and so we thought that she deserves a get away as she is such a helper to me in many things.
Here is the problem; WE ARE GOING TO MISS HER SO MUCH!
She leaves soon and I can't stand it. My heart has been all hyper today as I watched her pack, signed a medical permission card for her, and organized her schooling for her to take along. I am not worried, she is with wonderful folks, it is just we are so used to being together, and I enjoy her company as she delights my heart as we walk side by side through each day. This is one of the things they do not tell you about when you start homeschooling; that you will become so bonded to your precious children. Oh well, it is one of the casualties of the heart I will have to suffer with .
Her daddy came home from work and prayed over her before he had to go on to his next project for the day. I am thankful for a husband who believes in his place of protection over his daughters. He blessed my heart as he lifted her before the Father Above.
Psalm 54:4 God is my helper, the sustainer of my life.
Oh praise Him!

How nice to read of your relationship with your daughter. I do know what you mean. My daughter went on a missions trip last summer and I missed her so much I "decided" she was never going anywhere again! Well, she's 17, and the day she does take off on her own is getting closer, and it really hurts to think of how hard that will be. I just have to remember that the Lord gives us the grace when we need it.

Your story brought tears to my eyes. Our daughters & I are very close too. I know each year when I read about our MN Christian Homeschool Assoc.'s graduation cermony, I cry so much, I'm emotionally drained for the remainer of the day. What will I be like when it happens at our house? I have a hard enough time when the girls just go to a friend's house to play for the afternoon. I'll be a wreck. I need to start praying about it more fervantly now.
Hugs, Jane

Hi Joyce!
I can imagine how you must feel! I would be devastated without my children around. Homeschooling bonds you so closely that you cannot imagine them being away! I hope you will find peace this week while she is gone.
Blessings,
Hallie
