Happy Easter to all of you! It was truly a wonderful Easter Sunday for us. We had a brunch at church today so we all had to be there early for music practices before hand. There were many people there and the men had to set up extra tables to accommodate everyone. The fellowship was sweet. Church service started by us singing the traditional Easter Hymns; Up From the Grave He Arose, Christ the Lord is Risen Today, and He Lives. I had worked with some ladies and teen girls on a special number called Life of Praise and it was wonderful, very upbeat and full of praise. The second package was made up of 4 songs; My Redeemer Lives, In Christ Alone, Indescribable, and closing with He Reigns, by the Newsboys. It was beautiful exalting worship and there was the joy of the Lord in our church. Praise His Name. I am so thankful for His faithfulness to make me able. I have been pretty sick all week with heavy lungs and coughing and a low grade fever. I just did not feel good this morning. I have been sleeping lots of extra hours trying to help me fight this off. I prayed this morning that God would help me to glorify Him as I lead the worship. He is good. We have enjoyed having Jeni and Jessie her roommate home for a few days. Matthew surprised us by coming home on Friday, a day early. We had a full house with everyone switching bedrooms to help everyone to fit somewhere for sleeping. We all survived finding a bathroom to shower in and do the makeup etc.. Remember, we are talking about 6 females and 2 males. Rick was wondering around in his sweats this morning when I saw an empty bathroom and I told him he had better make a grab for it while he could. It is hard being the king of the house when there are so many women who need to get beautiful! We spent so much time talking and sharing and laughing. It was so good to be together. Jeni and Jessie had homework to do so that kept them busy. Friends came by to visit and we had a relaxing weekend. Everyone helped out which helped me as I felt so tired. We had lunch after supper and I had fixed ham, scalloped potatoes, veggies, salads and applesauce. As Ben, Mandy's fiance, was going through the line to eat he asked if there was a spoon for the applesauce jar. I responded " Ben, this was supposed to be a fancy dinner with the crystal and best china, but with getting sick we are down to this buffet and pouring the applesauce out of the mason jar!" He laughed and said he would not hold it against me. :) The girls all helped me clean up the kitchen which of course meant the music came on and Jeni put on a mix she created that has some old style music on it. The girls all started dancing and did a cha-cha line through the kitchen and around the dining table. I got some of it on film as it was so fun to see them laughing and Melody at the end of the line keeping up with the older girls. Matthew headed back to Green Bay and Jeni and Jessie left to go back to college, Ben left for his home in Sturgeon Bay. A couple college girls came over to visit and we had some great conversation together. They left and now another friend is over, but the house is quiet. It is nice in a way, and sad in another way. The quiet would not be so sad if the loud joyfulness has not been so good for the last few days. I am thankful for my family and rejoicing in en empty tomb that represents victory to me. Easter is a blessing. |
