Back to life

Posted in Home Life

I am so glad to be feeling better today.  Although not 100%  I am glad to at least be free of the headache, fever, and sleepiness, and my coughing is less.
Unfortunately, Annie and Melly are both sounding pretty tough this morning with coughing and sniffling.
We has some exciting news last week.  Jeni, our oldest was planning to do her internship here in youth work here in our church for the summer.  She must do an internship to graduate next May.  She was very excited about it and her roommate Jessie was to work with her.  I was excited because it would give me a break with the leadership with the youth.  Jessie was here for Easter to see our home and be with us and check things out.  Upon returning to school last week she found out that her mother has breast cancer.  We are praying for her as this is such a scary thing.  We love Jessie and know that God is Sovereign in all of this.  Her mom needs her with her for the next few months, so Jessie will not be coming here for the summer.  This changed the whole internship plan.  But, on Thursday Jeni was made aware of another internship that would serve her needs and in 5 weeks versus the whole summer.  This internship would be a mission trip to Africa to work with youth, bringing the gospel to villages and schools, and the truth about AIDS.  These things encompass all of our daughter's passions.  This trip seems made just for her.  She has longed to go before but with her two jobs and school she has never been able.  This trip works perfectly.  It will be a leap of faith as she has to raise the money, get shots, update her passport etc.  all in one month.   God is always full of surprises, leading His children to fulfill their destinies for His glory.
I am glad for this down time as it has given me many hours to pray over this and many other things.  Oh what peace to talk over life with God.  We discussed everything from fishing to how to finish the school year to how to cheaply fix up our older bathroom which is falling apart.  He is so good as He gives direction and leads.  I am encouraged in God today.
Rick started fishing on Saturday.  He had a good lift and we are praying for many more like it.  We are also praying for him to be able to minister to our new hired man who is 60 years old and an alcoholic.  He needs Jesus.  Rick feels that God has brought him Danny to bless and encourage.  Danny has fished on some tough fishing crews and needs love.
My man has such a gift of faith, to believe that God will provide and to see past a persons "junk", and don't we all have some!  I can't wait to see how God uses my husband.
I am off to hang out our bedding, first load of the season.  I just love hanging out the clothes on the line and how fresh that makes everything, and saves us money too!

We have one more thing in common: we pray alike. I like to get up really really early in the morning when it is dark and no one is stirring. I make my coffe and then go sit in the darkness and pray. I pray about everything, tell Him everything. He is my Best Friend.

I am still waiting for your herb list that you told me about that changed your life!! Please don't keep it a secret. In fact, that would make a good blog for those that have had the same struggle as yourself.
