Today is our melody's birthday. Nine years ago I gave birth to this precious little,( well she was over 10 lbs.) girl. She was due on the 6th and was 20 days over due. I am so thankful for a midwife who did not get all excited but calmly trusted that my body would know when and eventually it did. :) She was born in the morning after only a few hours of labor and my water breaking which was a personal prayer request that God answered for me. I felt so good after her birth. It was a Sunday morning and my mother was here to be at the birth. Rick. my mom and our daughters all watched her come into the world. My mom made a delicious brunch and i came out to the table and we ate together. The children all headed off to church with their own Polaroid of their new baby sister. After church folks came by to see her in her bassinet and it was kind of a celebration party all day. What fun and good memories. Our little "song of joy". Today we will have the day off of school to celebrate, although our high-school girl will do a few subjects as she needs to stay in schedule with work starting in a few weeks. We will have Melody's favorites so that will be pancakes for breakfast, hot-wings and salad for lunch. We will be heading to Sturgeon Bay for a horse clinic for supper so her dinner will be tomorrow night with grandma and grandpa and a very close family who have children her age. We are going to pick up a little then take a walk over some of out back property. We found an arial map of our cottage acreage and the children and I are going to go and see what the back five acres are like. We have not walked back there for years as it is a rental property and we knew it was not something that we could use because of it being investment. We are considering some changes with that so I want to go see what the back five acres looks like and if it is totally over-grown woods or some field. It is cooler out this morning so we are going to have to bundle up but it will be fun. Our children love exploring and so they will be in charge of finding the boundary pipes. We are expecting rain so we will go right after breakfast. Oh how good and faithful God has been to this precious girl. This was her year of salvation! What a joy to see what God has done in her life, to see her new talents starting and to watch her growing in all areas of her life. Praise to His name! |
