Someone is getting ready for school

I wish it was me! I have been trying for four weeks to get in the schoolroom and get organized and then start the lesson plans for the coming school year. I have hardly begun to start the process and I can feel a little bit of stress starting about the whole thing. It has been a work filled summer and unfortunately I have unable to fulfill the agenda I had for summer preparations for the new year. But, Melody took out her school box, (we do not have desks, just these crates that we put everything into and have beside the children's chair), and she was organizing her things! She has that "organizing" gene that mutated from somewhere, but never fully developed in me! She made piles according to what she thought should go or stay. As you can see we are eclectic in the publishers that we use and I have stuck with what has worked in certain subjects. But, I felt so bad when she asked for her new books and I had to point to the door of our schoolroom and tell her that they are in THERE somewhere. She would have started school today if I had things together for her. Oh well, I hope to be ready by next week sometime, that news made her happy. |
