The hike that went on forever!

Posted in Home Life

When we stopped at the Ellison Bay Bluffs, I noticed that they had added a hiking trail.  I enjoy hiking, especially with my children so off we went.  The funny thing is that we entered the trail down from where the trail description was posted.  We had no clue that this was a 2 mile trail, that we were on a no pick, no step off the trail, no hurt the trees kind of a trail.  It NEVER was that way before!  So we gathered pretty leaves, mostly off of the ground, and a few that were begging to be used for art projects.  We talked and laughed and sang and then we realized that the turn to the left that we had been looking for was not happening.  We knew a left turn would turn us around heading north toward the parking lot.  Finally we did come to that spot, but by then the drama was in full swing and the humor was outrageous.  They all thought they were going to die of starvation, and that we should be calling Dad to let him know where to find our remains!!!!   Have I ever mentioned that our children could all be stand-up comedians?  This picture was taken on a break that we took.  We did eventually find a road which we followed until we met some bikers who pointed us in the right direction.  All this fun and excitement only FOUR miles from home.  Who needs Disneyland?
