Jeni and Jason story

Last summer Jeni started to hang out with a group of friends from Ill.. Jason was one of the young men in the group. We have know Jason as he attended the college Bible Study I taught for two summers. They had stayed in contact by phone all fall and Jason has been just the sweetest gentleman to Jeni. She has often commented that he is the nicest man she has ever met. He is complimentary and prays and talks about spiritual things with her, so their friendship has grown. Jeni went down and stayed with his folks to meet them, and then Jason came our way for the last four days. I have to give him credit as he was raised with one brother, but took the noise and fun of our larger family all in stride. He stayed with Matthew up in our cottage and said that he enjoyed his time with us. On NY Eve, as we were all heading out to the fireworks, Jason asked if he could talk to Rick alone.......... Kind of hard to find a private place in our house on NY Eve so they sat at the table. Jason asked Rick if it would be OK to date Jeni. It was Jeni's desire for Jason to ask her Dad and it was a wonderful idea. Rick asked him about his salvation and Jason gave his testimony to Rick. Rick was able to communicate to Jason the importance of a God centered relationship and also ask his intentions with Jeni in regards to protecting her heart and respecting her in every way. It was so good, and again, I was SO proud of my husband. So this is Jeni and Jason. They will continue their long distance relationship, Jeni in Minneapolis and Jason in Chicago, and we will pray for them as God unfolds His will for their lives. Matthew and the girls all give their approval and like Jason very much. Jason seemed ok with our family as well...... stay tuned! |
