Lessons in life

I think this is going to be a great year spiritually speaking I know that so far I have needed to be in the Word every day to handle each day, like never before! Maybe it is my age, or the years of loving God that I have under my belt (30 years), but I have never started a New Year with such a feeling of desire for the presence of God in each and every day. I know, I know, He is there whether I feel His presence of not! I want to chase Him, seek Him, dance and live with Him in purposeful days of Spiritual Delights. The best part is knowing that the God of the universe want this with me too. To know that He loves me and knew my greatest need would cost His Son has overwhelmed me recently. I have always reveled in my love relationship with God but 2008 is taking it up a notch! I am excited and aware that there is much to learn and embrace in the coming year.One aspect of Spiritual change for me is the change it will bring to my family. Changed Mom usually means influenced family, for the better or the worse. I have learned some more about being transparent with my children, sharing more of the hard times, asking for prayer, allowing them to learn to minister and having them seek scriptures with me to bring wisdom to a situation. As I grow spiritually and am open with all that God is doing with me, my children are then given opportunity to watch how God works in me, their mom. It has been humbling, exciting, and challenging, isn't God good? We are learning about relationships, and looking at what God says about how we treat one another. We are looking at HOW God loves. I have been studying the book of Romans and 1-3 John and realizing that: God loves in our BEST interest, God loves with a smart love, not a coddling love, God loves in a way that is not co-dependent. God's love is sacrificial I am working with the girls to teach them to operate in THIS kind of love. This is one of our group resolutions for the year! And we all know that if we ask God to help us love more..........we get lots of opportunities to practice it! Yes, it is going to be a great year! |
