Monday orgainizing

Posted in Home Life

We are having a late start this morning due to a trip to Green Bay last night to hear comedian Jeff Allen.  It was a packed crowd and we laughed.  WE have heard him many times and he is so good.  I believe it is healthy to laugh at all the weirdness of being human, raising teens, living life etc..  Our children really enjoyed it as well.  It was a late night as we came home hungry.  We had eaten supper at a place called Macinaw Grill, I believe that is the name.  The food was just not good, soups were half warmed and the nachos we shared were soggy.  It took forever to get the food and there was not time to deal with it.  So we shared some popcorn when we got home, talked a bit and then headed to bed, late!
Today Rick comes home, PTL!  I just miss him so much when he is gone.  He already called to say he was on the plane heading to Detroit.  They will get into Green Bay after lunch and then he has about a two hour ride home after that.  Did I ever mention we live in the boonies?

    Plans:
Food:
Monday-  Steak, (our family's celebrating food) salad and veggies
Tuesday- Mexican tacos veggies
Wednesday - pasta and marinara sauce, salad
Thursday -  Chicken in the crock pot, fruit salad, veggies
Friday -- ?? we will probably have company so I am thinking of swedish meatballs, potatoes salad of some sort.
Saturday -- leftovers for the children as Rick and I will be going to a Gospel music quartet concert with friends and will not be back until evening.

Plans:
I need to start investing time into tax preparation as our taxes are due the end of Feb. due to our being agriculture.
Kristi and I both need to so the dentist this week, I lost half a tooth and she is having trouble with a tooth that had a temporary put in.
I am going to sew with the girls this week working on each of them mastering some basic techniques with the machines.
I have pulled out the photos I organized a year ago and am starting with the oldest, Matthew, and getting their photos into the binders I started.  I have taken over the living room game table for this...... but hope to get one child done each week.  Then, I will sort through the 2-3 boxes of memorabilia and add those things to the binders.

Today:
Get the wood stove going and haul wood in.  I let the fire go out yesterday with being gone.
Clean up the house for Masters return  :)
Get supper ready and have the girls make a treat to finish the celebration meal because their Daddy's home.
Clean up the office desk which I trashed yesterday looking for a receipt from Fleet Farm to return a leather tool belt which fell apart after two weeks of work.
Have a wonderful day of school with my girls.
Teach Monday's piano lessons, guitar lessons and watch Melly practice violin.
Should be a wonderful day!

I've been organizing, too. It feels so good to do that, doesn't it?
I read all your posts since I visited last and I am glad that you are doing well and enjoying life so much. It is great that you are so excited about the Lord and are looking forward to a more closer walk with Him in 2008.
You snowmobile looks like fun!

It looks like a fun and busy week for you - like usual. Looking back at your posts, your house looks like it's the place to be, full of love and fun! Happy to hear that your dh will be home soon - just in time for the Super Bowl, but I suppose it won't be quite as exciting now since GB's loss - they played a good game though. How is the weather over there? Did you get much snow from this latest artic blast? We only got a light dusting, but the cold, oh my. That is neat that you got to see Jeff Allen, I love Christian comedy too. Have you seen his video on "The Homeschool Family", if not, let me know and I'll send you the site, it is such a hoot. It seems like we like all the same things - too bad we aren't neighbors. :)

Please don't appologize about not visiting, I'm the one that should apologize. I do think of you often, but always at the wrong times. I have good intentions, but that's as far as it gets. I am so sorry to hear about Peaches. (((hugs))) It is so sad whenever something like that happens. I pray you find a good horse this spring, it is sooo hard to know who to trust when it comes to finding the right animal companions. I'll let you know if I hear of a good horse. There are so many out there and with the economy the way it is, you should be able to find a pretty good one for almost nothing. For hay, we paid $3/bale, but that is just for the small square (rectangular) bales & first cutting. We bought early because we were afraid things would really skyrocket when the drought set in. The last I heard, the big round bales were going for about $35/ea, for the really nice hay, $15 for the not so good. And as far as your question about what grain mill I'm getting, it's the Country Living Grain Mill, http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/country_living_mill.aspx
I didn't want an electric one, although this one can be converted. It should arrive any day now, I can hardly wait. Now I'm looking into a buyers club to get the wheat berries.

That is hysterical about Guy Penrod!!!! You know, my oldest daughter, Amber, and I were looking at the November pictures on your blog a while back and we both said, wow, that looks like Guy Penrod, not realizing it was! lol How neat! Well, we love your brother-in-law (and his family too). In fact, on the BG video it shows when he sang with the quartet for the Old Time Gospel Hour and I tell my girls - I remember that, I remember him singing then. What a small world! You will have to send them our greetings when you visit in March! (They don't know us, but we are family in Christ just the same).

Have a blessed week! I promise I'll be back more often to visit. Praying peace & comfort to you and yours too re: Peaches. Much Love & (((BIG HUGS))).
